  1. Hi Coop - was wondering if any update on the fix for the blue bearing pointer on the G5?
  2. I've flown multiple real life aircraft (152s, PA28s, C182s) all with G5s fitted. I haven't come across any real aircraft flight configuration where horizon as this much misaligned as the simulator G5s. The strange thing is that the vacuum AI on the xplane aircraft are all aligned correctly, so if the G5s are taking a attitude input from xplane, then something else must be wrong. The misalignment is really noticeable so hope it gets resolved soon. Apart from that, the sim G5s are an amazing product and thank you for developing them.
  3. Thank you for the prompt response - much appreciated. Below pics show what I mean. In this scenario I have the GPS set to a UK NDB Beacon called SND at London Southend Airport. The G5 bearing pointer is not pointing at the NDB beacon. I have also tuned the ADF to 362 which is the freq for SND and the ADF is pointing correctly. I have also attached a map view for perspective. The beacon in this situation has a relative bearing of 90deg but I cannot get the blue pointer on the G5 to show the same?
  4. Hi - I'm struggling to get the blue bearing pointer to work on the G5. For example, when performing holds with beacon set correctly on the GPS, the bearing pointer should always point the to the beacon (NDB etc). Instead, it seems like it is always pointing to a random fix somewhere? Real shame as the G5s are great for practicing holds.
  5. Perfect thank you. I followed the instructions and it works fine now.
  6. I'm currently using the G5 in pop-up mode with the Carenado Cessna 177 Cardinal RG. The problem I have is that I cannot get the GPS track on the G5 (magenta arrow) to auto sequence to the next waypoint on the GPS flight plan. The xplane GPS sequences correctly when I fly over a waypoint but the G5 keeps on pointing in the same direction. I have also checked that the GPS is not in OBS or CDI mode. Strange thing is that when press the OBS button twice, the magenta arrow then sorts itself out but annoying having to do this for each waypoint. The "Direct To" function does not work with the G5 either. I've tried re-installing both the aircraft and G5 to rule out any corruption issues. Just wondering whether I am doing something wrong?
  7. Thank you for the reply. The aircraft in my original posting was the carenado Cessna 177 Cardinal RG. So I then checked the 'out of the box' Cessna 172 provided by Aviation X with the latest G5 install (v2.0). I would expect this aircraft to be correct if it came from the developers behind the G5, but even this has an error - see pic below. I'm using the G5 to support my Instrument Rating (IR) training in the UK and as things stand I cant use the G5 I paid for as the pitch error is too bad. I think this really needs a patch release asap. Grateful if you could take a look into this.
  8. Please help as the G5 AI horizon is not aligned correctly. As can be seen from pic below, the aircraft is perfectly in trim and the original AI (gyro based) is level with the horizon. However, the G5 horizon is not aligned. This makes the G5 impossible to use as when you set it level to the horizon, it results in a descent rate of 300ft/min.
  9. Sorry - I havent found a fix for this. Agree with original poster that this is a major bug.
  10. Ignore my comment - I'm still testing the bearing pointer and may have got it to work
  11. Reading the help section, the guide mentions that the variable below can be used to change the baro units from inHg to mb. However, my config file does not have this field - see attachment. Any help much appreciated. g5_mbbarounit = 0 acfConfig.cfg
  12. Perfect, that fixed it. Although I have triple monitors, I was only running XP11 on one monitor with full screen. When I changed the sim to run in a windowed mode, the 'activate licence' dialogue box was visible and I was able to enter my licence details. Great customer support - I see you responded within 1 hour of my post being raised. Thank you!
  13. Hi - My G5s were working perfectly but after a new install of the G5s (not a new install of XP11), I cannot get them to turn on anymore on the standard XP11 C172. Both screens are blank. See log file attached. Log.txt
  14. You are a genius @Coop. I can now practice my approaches! Another quick question. When you press and hold the knob on the HSI on the real world G5, the heading bug auto aligns with the current heading. Is that possible on the sim G5?
  15. Dear Support, I have purchased the Garmin G5 add-on and am using it with the default Cessna 172 on xplane. I was wondering if there is a way I can get both G5s permanently overlayed as pop-outs so that I can increase the size and view them clearly when flying. They are far too small when using as part of the sim instrument panel. I've tried changing the config file and managed to get popout working but they disappear when I click on the screen - my current config file is attached. I run xplane 11 in full screen mode. Regards, acfConfig.cfg Harshad
