Well there are lots of references to this subject on the net but few actually lead anywhere (Mind you I have learned a lot about all other types of flaps, their purpose and useage)--this is about the only direct ref. so far:-- 'The flaps on a Maule airplane can be selected negative, which then gives the best lift:drag ratio at a higher airspeed.' And this--the tech. name is Reflex flaps although negative works:-- As you say Dozer more for Gliders though the Maule & Seamax have it as an option 'Speed mode (reflex). Flaps or both flaps and ailerons at a small negative (up) angle reduces lift and drag by reducing the natural camber of the airfoil. You go faster.'

Thanks Dozer-was working my head around the same conclusion--haven't been able to find any other info on the subject.
  3. Very nice John--will have to put the finishing touches on mine-Well done. Edwin
  4. Thats one lovely Pic Phantom
  5. Nice ones-wouldn't mind a swap-best by personal message? Heres a couple with the floats repainted too. Only fly Bush so wanted her to look old fashioned. I'm really am over the moon with this excellent model,as it's really well turned out, flies so well and more so because I actually flew to Egypt in one of these 60 years ago before the Suez crisis only to find a complete plane minus undercarraige on a munitions dump some 500 yds from our house which I 'Flew' most days until we were evacuated.
  6. Found it thanks Theo--should have looked harder. I do not use the Paintkit PSD files with Photo Paint (Although I can) I do all my work directly to the PNG files without setting up layers (Again although I can) The highly efficient masking options/processes in CorelPaint X4 (Compared to Photoshop) allows me to accurately isolate anything on the PNG Map work on it/them then combine it/them back in. So far I've found this the most convenient method Still very early days as far as Liveries go for me yet enjoyable though challenging--Although I've constantly updated the program over the years I've not used it for a very long time and when I did it was for a completely unrelated type of Graphic/Photo editing. Thanks for all-Edwin
  7. Cheers Mate--So new to this 'Malarkey' but really enjoying it so I'll try and work out your instructions--However if you hear of a Nutter hunting a chap called Theo around the back streets of Christchurch take cover--It will be me.... Taa Edwin
  8. Finally finished my first attempts at a livery--swore a lot but enjoyed it. Shes a lovely plane
  9. Hi All, The Paint kit in the DC-3 package got me tinkering for the first time and I have become totally absorbed in it. Had a lot of problems to begin with as I prefer to use Corel Grapics x4 (Photo Paint x4 ) as it is far more intensive than Corel PaintShop Pro. Well pleased with the initial results (After hours of being nagged by the wife about my excessive use of foul language--Air still reeks of it!!) Would really like to work on the floats--is there anyway of doing this as they don't look that clever on the default Liveries anyway?? Cheers

    Liveries

Really impressed with the results turning up on the forum that I'm giving designing my own liveries a try & loving it (Pure amateur at present) Two quickies-- 1. Wheres the best place on the site or elswhere to read up? 2.I've got a host of programs-Corel PShop x4 Pro----Corel Graphicsx4 (inc. Photo-Paint which I like & it works & is more intensive than Photoshop ) AutoCad. + a few others (Were work related programs I'm now retired) Which would be considered the best? Thanks Guys
  13. Checking out the Glacier enroute CZST--CZAA
  14. She really is a dream to fly--nice work--love it.
  15. You are a diamond Cameron--always on the 'Case' Cheers and have a G'day
  16. Thats great Chris and appreciated. I'm really going to give it a try--I've seen a lot of your work and its's something else--Cheers mate
  17. I've got a pretty good collection already but this one really interests me 'weez'--how do you rate her and whats the 3D panel like (Assuming she has one?) Because if I can't fly it with Trakir--I don't fly (Well spoilt with Trakir) No need to answer that--could not resist. Sure got some strong reaction when i first flew her--fps jumping all over the place but she settled down after a lot of fiddling in options--Had to take everything back to zero then build back???? never had that with a plane before--Nice plane though
  18. Just started flying North Mid Canadian frontier but none of the airports are recognised by X-Plane ie CYPM--CPV7--CYVZ is there a way aroung this or a way of adding airports into X-Plane? Cheers-Edwin
  19. Hi Guys. Reached my upload limit and been trying to earn some more space by deleting my Screenshots. Is there an easier way--say deleting the whole post etc.? Cheers
  20. Nice shot Carlos well done
  21. She has a negative Flaps setting--never come across this before--I can sumise what it's used for--but what/where/when is it used & because it crops up so infrequently can I assume it's not particularly popular? The whole flap system on this plane seems somewhat intricate!
  22. LearJet C74. Flies real smooth
