  1. I can understand that, just he hasn't hosted it anywhere else either.
  2. I see the B-17 has been deleted from XPFR by its creator so it's no longer supported, and help for outdated 9.70 stuff is probably too much to expect.
  3. Never mind. The level of support is overwhelming.....
  4. Anyone? Lots of you that do paints, I'm not the only one.
  5. I really don't understand this, so bear with me. I've done a livery for the FJS Q400. Got the daytime livery done, no problems. Using their paintkit, I have pasted in the png file of the daytime livery into their LIT paintkit in the section "paste your livery here" and saved it as the LIT file for that item. All fine. The LIT png files are showing up nice and dark, with the lit areas showing as they should, like for the tail as an example. BUT when I load the aircraft at night, THIS is what I get. Fluorescent white livery at night, even though it's fine and dark on the LIT files. And it's with every single one of the Q400 liveries. All of them, not just my Landor one, so it's not my livery at fault. Below is the Wideroe livery that ships with the Q. The LIT png file for the Landor's tail, looking correct: But look how the tail looks in the sim at night. Nothing like the above png: It's not doing it with any other aircraft, so I can't blame my settings. I just haven't a clue why it's doing this. Googling any combination of xplane and this fault has drawn a total blank. Does anyone have any ideas please, as I'm fresh out of thoughts on this one?

  7. No problem at all. Just don't see anything wrong with a respectful shot of an aircraft that happens to be in the news.
  8. Well, if the Maldives residents are correct (and they have described the Malay jet down to the colour scheme) can you think of any other reason why the plane should be anywhere remotely near the Maldives? I can't, even allowing for "George" to have been left to fly the plane on a south-westerly course into Pulau Langkawi and screwed his heading up royally. What really doesn't help is just how inept the Malaysians are coming across as.
  9. ... which puts the aircraft en route to Somalia. Which is what I said days ago. I still feel in the coming days there will be hostage demands.
  10. I don't think many relatives will be visiting here. Anyway there were videos (!) and similar pics when Air France went down and no one complained. We can't suddenly stop posting shots of a plane/country, I mean Malaysia are still flying 777s. We gonna ground them in case someone's not happy? Anything respectful and which keeps people thinking about it's got to be a good thing. Got my vote, Carlos.
  11. Loving that Air Bucharest paint. Uncomplicated but fresh.
  12. That one didn't fly on for a number of hours, pinging all the way. This one remained in the air (for hours) after the transponder was switched off. It's either explosive decompression - but then why the transponder off? Or hijack/terrorism. If it was something as mundane as a technical accident, it would have been all over in seconds, no transponder trail of clues for hundreds of miles. I can't think of anything, explainable or otherwise, that fits what's been released so far other than A and B above. Don't want to get into a religious debate, but the current lot into terrorism atrocities regard everyone not in their religion as enemies. And the last time I looked, China is not remotely Islamic.
  13. This highlights what I said earlier http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2580815/Missing-MH370-jet-flown-Indias-Andaman-Islands-according-radar-data-claimed-inquiries-focus-increasingly-hijacking-theory.html They're saying it was last "seen" 5-6 hours after the transponder was switched off, at 35K ft, 200miles NW of Malaysia, heading towards the Andaman Islands (572 uninhabited inhospitable) and thence to India/Pakistan via IGARI-VAMPI-GIVAL-IGREX. Personally, turn left a bit more and you're outside radar tracking range, outside cellphone communication range, and en route to Somalia where no one but them will know it's arriving. Question is, was it a terrorist effort to deny burials (crash in the deep Indian Ocean) or are we about to get a ransom demand in the coming days?
  14. Long shot, but the 777 can fly from China to San Fransisco, so it certainly has the range for a very very long flight, particularly to Africa and they do like to do piracy and hijackings there, especially as their usual marketplace has been blockaded by warships for months and they haven't been able to hijack many ships recently. Could be wrong, but that's what I'm starting to wonder. I think the lack of a crash site, no floating debris field, plus mobile phones that ring when they should be underwater is all the easy explanation, but not necessarily the right one. PS I'm with everyone else on the phones - if the phone is off/underwater/dead it goes straight to voicemail. No rings, no ringtones, nothing. Straight to voicemail. Never had any phone do anything different.
  15. Just to confirm what I posted two hours ago, now this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-26583342
  16. There's been a few comments in the media today about the engines sending data long after the plane went missing. I'm beginning to wonder if it's a hijack. How many islands around that area still have old WW2 runways on them? Who would notice a few guys clearing an isolated one on an island somewhere? That and the phones still ringing is really making me wonder if this is an accident or something more sinister.
  17. There are starting to come some really stunning shots, Carlos and rleendertz. xp10 is making xp9 look pants.
  18. Had a yearning to go fly in this old gem. T34 Mentor.
  19. Where's that Delta livery from Carlos?
  20. There was a plugin called ClearSkies, which was primarily meant for getting rid of fog in xplane on low-end computers. It's good, and might be what you need. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=3580
  21. Welcome to the way I fly! Rules, procedures, checklists, taxiways..... that's all crap designed to delay getting in the air. I get it airborne from the gate and worry about the niceties tomorrow.
  22. Not good. It's been three full days now and the chances of survivors are remote with every hour that passes.
  23. They're called Spoilers on the Dash, and they're automatic. Switch on the panel directly in front of the pilot, just Flight and Idle. In flight they're inactive, in Idle they're active on the runway. For slowing down, you just need to plan ahead. Reduce throttle until you reach the target speed, and then nose down a couple of degrees until you reach target alt. That's what I do.
  24. Actually WHICH Dash-8 are you flying? The FJS payware one does come with a manual, but I think there is an old freeware Dash 8 on the org too which probably hasn't got a manual. If you're using the FJS one, it most certainly does have a manual in with the downloaded acf.
  25. Starting to worry about Carlos...... on finals with speedbrakes up, and now flying with engine covers on.
