Is this site affiliated with the .org or .org store?
Nicola_M replied to Big T's topic in General Discussion
You shouldn't have angry clients at all. It is usually the customer's experience which sours their happiness, and any decent business's aim should be turning an irate customer into a happy one. Happy ones tend to stick around and remain loyal customers. If you can afford to turn away "angry" customers, then you must be rolling in it. Look at the org - it tosses away angry customers left, right and centre and also creates angry customers. It will eventually erode its own customer base through its own behaviour and the fact that customers are steered away from "nasty" companies by word of mouth ie previous bad experiences. The org does not have what one would call a "tiny" base of disgruntled ex-customers. It's substantial, and growing daily, which is good because it's expanding the membership here, which is clearly the nicer place. -

Especially if one of them happened to be either Nicolas, or an org mod. -

You're not the only one to have experienced that same heavy-handedness from the org staff, and most people who have been forced out of the org end up here, which is the kind of place the org should be. Cameron (site owner) has been known to stand up for people in his posts. As far as I see it, the only connection here to the org is that some of the org staff are also members here. In all events, welcome to the nicer place. -

Simply unzip the file "Possibly P-1" into your xplane/aircraft/helicopters/bk117/liveries folder. This is the livery of what I believe is the fabled P-1 prototype. The reason behind this belief is the chin windows are different to the P-2 and S-01 prototypes and the production series. This helicopter is today located in the Auto & Technik Museum at Sinsheim, Germany, and is shown in an early DRF livery. Click here to download this file

BK117 livery B-2 CN 7248 D-HWWW - EXCLUSIVE TO X-PILOT.COM Repaint for Nils Danielsson's excellent payware MBB BK-117. Simply unzip the file "CN 7248 D-HWWW" into your xplane/aircraft/helicopters/bk117/liveries folder. This is the livery of 7248, as seen new in July 1993 in the old colours of DRF, representing Christoph 49 for the Bad Saarow region. It remains in the DRF fleet today. Heartfelt thanks to Woweezowee for his invaluable help with parts of the livery. Note: If anyone wishes the same livery but with a different registration number for an aircraft in mind, pm me and I'll happily oblige. Refurbishing the default Cessna 172
Nicola_M replied to Leen de Jager's topic in Aircraft Development
Really nice work. Would love to see it downloadable. -
Oh, double thanks. That link shows all the text too. Miles better than the Revell version I have. Again, thank you.
-
Ahh, you are a star, Wowee. Thank you sooo much. N

It looks to me like Weist Westfalen Notarzt. Does that seem logical? Or Weiss something, to describe the logo?
-
Even the name of that 7-pointed logo would help, as I might find a jpeg or png by its name rather than making it from scratch. It may not help, but here's an enlargement of the part.
-
Thanks Woweezowee, I tried their website, in particular the part for Bad Saarow, but nothing came to mind. I was hoping the text might look familiar.

I'm doing the old DRF livery for the BK117, but there is an image with some words that I can't make out. The helicopter is Christoph 49, based at Bad Saarow in 1993. Can any of our members tell me what the wording around the logo on the tail fin might be please? Thanks in advance.

As for flying the BK117, it's slightly easier than the stock helis, but that could also be down to using a setup that works for me. On all helis you have to give a load of yaw once you lift off, and the BK is realistic in that way.
-
I firmly believe that what joystick you use makes a lot of difference when you're trying to fly a helicopter. A twist grip joystick gives you the advantage of using rudders, but twisting a joystick to keep it straight is far from natural. If it helps, I use an rc controller - similar to what they use to fly rc helicopters - and it is far simpler. You have two mini joysticks, the left one gives you collective and yaw and the right one does your cyclic. It is much much much easier to fly helicopters with one of those than with a conventional joystick. http://www.modelhelicopters.co.uk/fms-simulator-transmitter-mode-2-usb.html http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=24700
