  1. I'm not too sure if any of my fps anomalies are caused my a win10 update or adoption of v 10.50. I fly the ixeg 737 classic, a lot. It is becoming my favourite aircraft in any of my sims. When I do a flight from egcc to lowi, entering europe my 1080 is smashed by a graphical sledge hammer to 5-7 fps for a while, then it raises again to 46 fps and further in takes another hit (fl330). Now doing the same flight in my Kingair to see if it's scenery levels set too high or whatever it might be. Hope it's not the ixeg 737.
  2. I then spent $3000.00 on an EVGA 1080 8 gb card and an Asus PG348Q 3440 x 1440 res 34" Ultra Widescreen because, being me and knowing me, I'd only fritter it away on bills .I had to tell you that, to tell you this. If you are on the cusp of selling one of your children for scientific experimentation, do it to get this combination. Flight simulators are made for this 21.9 format. After using the monitor for a week and I'm only concerned with flight simulators, EVERYTHING is transformed. You people probably have some excellent hardware, monitors etc and I respect that. However, the 21.9 format adds peripheral areas to fill more of your vision. The immersion is 4 fold. At the resolution of 3440 x 1440 and a 100 hz refresh rate, until you have one, you can't know, so if you want to transform all of your flight sims (X-Plane looks amazing) I recommend you go this route. Jon
  3. Precisely. I'd rather they concentrated on the dynamics and systems, any day. Yes, detail is fantastic but get the aircraft performing accurately first, before the bells and whistles.
  4. If you mean a darker background, I'm with you. There would need to be sufficient contrast to the text but a sight impaired person has difficulty in both high and low contrast. Too much contrast viz White background and black text. The best option, for me, anyway would be a 70-80% Grey with white text. My eyes would not tire as quickly. Jon
  5. Yes, with not a clue as to what happened before I crashed, taking all the passengers and crew with me. Reboot.
  6. The IXEG 737 Classic is responsible for me, learning the many nuances of the X-Plane current Interface. I had the PMDG 737 600/700/800 in FSX but this is a sim I seldom use, these days. God love the old darling. It gave me many hours of anguish and enjoyment. The IXEG offering is absolutely wonderful and in a simulator with 64 bit architecture. Sure, I hope we get opening doors and alla that but right now, it's my favourite tubeliner to fly, in any sim. As to the interface: It took some learning for an old bloke and I look forward to XP 11 but right now everything is sensational. I just installed my new EVGA GTX 1080 8 gb card. There is definitely, a God. Thanks to the OP for sharing his opinion. Jon
  7. Thanks for your reply. BTW, she's not blonde anymore. Jon
  8. My installation of X-Plane 10.5 crashes whenever I install Real Weather Connector. I'm checking here, to find out if anyone else has experienced this problem. Anyone?
  9. I did post previously, a greeting to all, so here goes. Any forum that supports freedom of speech, within reason gets my vote. When I install Real Weather Connector, it crashes X-Plane. Is this a known issue. I downloaded the update I was informed about but no joy. X-Plane is stable without it. Anyone experienced this?
  10. My body is 68yo, my brain...about 15. I was learning to fly many years ago until, one day, a tall, blonde vision elbowed her way into my life and there went that little avenue of pleasure, I still love flying but now in my many simulators. Which brings me to why I joined your Group. I purchased the IXEG 737 Classic and it is sensational and worth every penny of the purchase price. I had neglected X-Plane 10 because I had not become used to the interface but that all changed with the IXEG product. I shall now begin my journey to make X-Plane even more beautiful to use. So, Hello. Jon
