With some help from a user on the XP Forum (apologies Cameron) I figured out how to switch the power lever from high idle to flight idle and from there my normal throttle mapping works well, including REV, taxi, etc. What I can't seem to do is find a way to move the lever from high idle to low idle to cutoff and back. I am using the mouse for this, which is fine as those positions are only used at the start and end of a flight. Nevertheless I will look at the link you sent and appreciate your sending it. Maybe it will solve this issue as well.

I have a CH Eclipse Yoke with three levers that can be mapped to various functions. I generally use the blue/left lever to control the throttle. I tried this with the TBM900 and it does not seem to function. I suspect the dual motion feature of this lever (left/right, forward/back) interferes with this mapping function. Does anyone know if there is a way to map a lever to perform this function on the TBM or to perhaps map a control key, with the lever, to control L/R F/B motions? Thanks for any advice on this. Note: Working on an iMac with the XPlane v11.41r1

@Goran_M I think your second explanation is probably what happened here. As is my normal habit when setting up a new aircraft I always go through all of my yoke, keyboard and view settings, creating a custom set, in this case for the TBM 900. In doing that I certainly moved the power level. In fact, the tutorial points to that device but I don't recall it providing any clear warnings that touching this device before the engine is started will destroy your airplane . I am presently located at KRNO, a shareware airport, but I doubt that alone would produce such an effect. So now my question is how can I restore the airplane to pristine condition? I hate to start off using my brand new multi-million dollar TBM with a burnt-out engine. Not to speak of the paint job. A friend who has this aircraft mentioned that you can always start anew by renaming the aircraft. If this is true I will certainly try that. Thank you for the quick reply to last night's frantic question. Stay well and healthy, SH

I am a newbie to the TBM 900. Just bought it today. Forgive me. I was watching the automatic tutorial that starts when you launch the aircraft the first time... a terrific feature! I got as far as the narrator throwing a couple of switches to begin the startup process when smoke started pouring out of the engine and it burst into flames. I had not touched a thing. Believe me. I quit XPlane and am hoping I can easily restore this airplane to working order tomorrow. a) What happened? b) How can I prevent this in the future? c) Is my airplane damaged? d) How can I repair it? I realize this aircraft is detailed beyond anything I have seen or used before (which is why I bought it). But I wasn't prepared for it exploding on me during a tutorial. Any assistance appreciated. Stay well. Stay healthy. —SteveH

You were correct. First tried using "Total Unarchiver", a utility similar to Stuffit. It decompressed the archive but the installer would not run. I then tried dragging the archive onto the Stuffit "Unarchiver" app. That also uncompressed the archive and this time when I clicked the installer it ran. MAXX-FX now installed. Thanks for your assistance with that.

OK. I'll give it a try. I think what you're saying is you must open the archive via Stuffit rather than just clicking on it. I'll try that.

I don't have any problem unzipping the archive. I get that message when I run the installer. To be accurate, when I first launched the installer i got a message saying this is a file downloaded from the internet, do i want to open it, etc. I have to open my OS Prefs, select "Security" and the installer is listed there. I then click "OK" to open the installer. The blue installer window then opens and i click to proceed. That's when I got this message I sent here. I tried trashing the folder, uncompressing the zip again, opening the folder and clicking the installer (for OS-X). This time I went directly to the blue window, clicked install and got the same message.

Hi Cameron. Just tried to install MaxxFX and ran into an install error (see attached). What do you recommend? I'm on an iMac 27 with max ram/vram/radeon/etc.

Thank you Cameron. I'll purchase it and see if it improves the haze issue. Thanks for the upgrade to SMP (4.5). Making the best better. I like that. —SH

Can you tell me if MaxxFX works with XPlane 11? I have been trying to minimize the pronounced haze seen in XP11 and this product looks like it might be just the ticket. But I want to be sure it works in the 11 environment first. Thanks. —SHaines

Cameron and Sundog, Just a short follow-up to our conversation this morning... After successfully installing and activating SMP, RWC and SM I did a flight today from Lansing (KLAN) to Niagara (KIAG) in the JAR A320. Initially I was concerned that there were no clouds at all. However, once airborne I quickly saw two wonderful characteristics of SMP. The cirrus layer was very soft, almost ethereal. As I neared cruise altitude these thin layers appeared again and flew by my aircraft at great speed. Then, as I neared my destination the entire sky slowly became overcast, almost erasing the land below. Both of these conditions are totally realistic and visually compelling, as are the giant cumulus cloud banks that one associates with SMP. This is a remarkable product which makes sim flying with X-Plane a very realistic experience. There is just no comparison between the visual quality of SkyMaxxPro and what Laminar provides. Thank you again for assisting me with reactivating these products.

You probably understood this already, but I first went to x-aviation.com, my account, and realized I didn't actually need to do anything there. So I then reinstalled all three products into XP11 and this time, thank you, it all worked. Including SoundMaxx. Great to be back in business! I did a flight yesterday in 11 and remarked that the weather depiction was so garish and artificial I would probably not use that version. Now that I have SMP restored I can proceed knowing the weather will look terrific again. Thank you very much!!

Thank you very much for the reply. I actually have two ticket replies. One is #U0KPJ. The other is #H8E1T. Thank you Cameron for resetting SoundMaxx. The other two products, SMP and RWC, did not indicate that issue and I was able to download them. However when I tried to install them into XP11 I got the same result... Unable to activate. So I will forst reset SoundMaxx and download that again. Then, I am assuming my subscription to SMP and RWC has been reset also so I should now be able to install all three into XP11 successfully. If I have this wrong please advise. I will post a note here as to the results (later today). Thank you again for the reply and assisting me with this. It didn't occur to me until yesterday that the reason for all these install issues may stem from acquiring the new computer (Apple replaced my old one due to failure) with a new digital "identity". So I appreciate your spotting this note and correcting this so I can use these products again. —SH

In January of this year Apple replaced my computer with a new one. Since that time I have been unable to reinstall my editions of SkyMaxxPro, Real Weather Connector and SoundMaxx. When I try to do so I get a dialog stating that "All License Slots are used". I tried downloading these programs again thinking that may clear up the problem but it did not. And I am unable to download SoundMaxx at all. Fortunately I was able to regain use of SMP and RWC via a backup copy of XPlane. I would like to install and use these plugins with XPlane11 but I keep encountering this restriction. Is it necessary to de-install them from XP10.51 first. Could someone at X-Aviation please assist me in restoring these plugins so I can use them properly with XPlane 11? Thank you.

Does anyone know if AutoGate does NOT work with the X-Crafts E175. When I am at a gate the sign says "ID Fail" and the gate doesn't activate. When I park at the same gate in the E195 there is no such message and the gate works. I checked the ICAO code in PlaneMaker (E175) and tried E75S and E75L which are given in the Wikipedia Airplane designation list. Still doesn't work. If anyone knows how to make the E175 by X-Crafts work with AutoGate I appreciate the assistance.
