Thanks, glad you like it . By the way - and to avoid misunderstandings: the island scenery is from XPFR/Lebelge, "only" the airport is my work (with additions from XPFR team like orthophotos, more photorealistic textures for some objects, the curved LDIN for rwy 05, the lighting on the extended runway and some more).

File Name: LPMA - Madeira airport File Submitter: uwespeed File Submitted: 10 Jan 2013 File Category: DSF Scenery Packages X-Plane Version(s): X-Plane 10 After working together with XPFR to combine my airport with XPFR's/Lebelge's Madeira scenery, we found out that it is not (yet?) possible to combine orthophotos with my HD Mesh. Nevertheless the airport is now released with a less detailed mesh (but still much better than the default one in XP10). The areas which are relevant for flying (i.e. runway, apron etc.) are still very good for experiencing the thrill of flying into LPMA - only the "rear" side of the airport is less detailed (due to the lack of enough polys in the XP10 base mesh) and there a few inaccurate parts, which can't be resolved easily at the moment. For the best experience, you should download also the orthophoto scenery and the objects layer file. Thanks a lot to XPFR for adding orthophotos, the curved approach light for runway 05, some more realistic textures, lighting on the extended runway, .... For installation instructions, don't forget to read the included readme file. Click here to download this file

If not already done, have a look .

When you release again such a great scenery, I (probably ) will make again a video about it ...

... and to yourself (and NZCH dev team) as well

A flight from the fictional airfield My Hut (NZNH) to Christchurch (NZCH) over the beautiful New Zealand Pro landscape from alpilotx.

My first attempt to land in NZMH (the fictional airstrip "My Hut" in New Zealand). I didn't try it yet a second time, so I don't know whether I would achieve it once again this good ).

Yes, we ... er ....but I can (see here - push, push ). No criticism to nickster: as far as I understand, the runway seems to have the correct form only in XP9. I'm planning to do a correction for the mesh of Lukla for XP10, when I have more time as currently (due to the job). Maybe beginning of next year. But please don't nail me down to this . Apart from that .. YPAD looks very nice in the details.

Just in case - click the "Download" button shown below. All the others you may see are ads (and not shown in my screenshot, because I use an adblocker).

As I had to interrupt the work on my scenery due to too much stress on the job, and on the other hand some people were waiting anxiously for a realease , I decided to upload it in the current state. I'd say it is finished about 97% for V1.0. Nevertheless, I will continue to work on the scenery when I have more time. In later releases, I plan to add ATC taxi routes, houses in the vicinity of the airport, maybe an orthophoto at the airport, more ground markings, oil spills, this and that ... There are still some things missing and/or buggy, like the curved lead in lights for RWY 05, some textures for the runways, the PAPI for RWY 23, some (minor) bugs in the elevation of the mesh, roads, etc.. But I think the scenery is "flyable". It isn't an "official" release, so I decided not to upload it here on x-pilot. You can download it here (german site). Click the "Download" button (easy, isn't it? ) After unzipping the downloaded file, you get 3 folders: P_Madeira_12-11-12 P_Madeira_a_roads_12-11-12 P_Madeira_mesh_12-11-12 Simply place them in your Custom Scenery folder. Have fun (hopefully). If you have other issues than the above described, please let me know. EDIT: you have to turn "runway follow terrain contours" ON. EDIT 2 (it was too late yesterday night ): if not already done, please install OpensceneryX and FF Library.

Or even 4096 x 4096 since X-Plane 10.10. But be aware that any prior version won't be able to process this large file.

Still not finished - struggling with my job taking too much time and additional struggling with e.g. the curved LDIN for rwy 05. Actually the curved LDIN is like a straight "rabbit" light at a normal airport, but I didn't yet figure out how to "connect" the appropriate datarefs to the obj. If there is any lights expert out there, please contact me, so that I can ask details to where I get stuck. Nevertheless some new screenshots:

Chris and me know what this means ...

Das hoffe ich doch ...

Although it is not really "screenshots" (at best "a lot of consecutive" screenshots ), here some new impressions. I wanted to have all the posts regarding the development of the scenery in one thread (please move this one to the video sub forum, if necessary)

Here are some more screenshots. Plan is still to be finished around early fall (northern hemisphere) this year.

Ok, not (only) screenshots ... some more impressions:

Actually my pilot has good flying skills, myself was only driving drunken to the airport . Seriously: it is not very easy to drive cars in X-Plane (at least with the Corvette i used), especially when driving faster, as the rudder which you are using to steer is too sensitive. Next time I should adjust the sensitivity. The downside of this: I can't countersteer fast enough, when the car is sliding. But X-Plane is a flight simulator and not a car racing simulator, right? . For racing I use "Live for Speed" - I'd say this one is the "X-Plane of the racing simualtors" as it is very realistic in the behaviour of the cars (I know this myself, as I did racing and gliding in the past).

My home region (Nuremberg and Fürth in Northern Bavaria) in 3D, recorded in XP 10. You need anaglyph glasses - left red, right cyan. Recommended to watch in HD to get a better 3D experience.

Thanks for the comment . I used Fraps.

A trip from Munich (EDDM) to Zürich (LSZH) for "business", to El Hierro (GCHI) for holiday and back to Munich with the DDenn's Challenger 300.

It is not only "entirely possible", but (more or less?) already implemented (0:43-1:109):

You know ... that's exactly what I also thought, after uploading the video . But fortunately it is only virtual money they are spending ...

A flight from Marseille (LFML) to Mallorca (LEPA) - and back - for sailing at highspeed with the Hydroptère.
