  1. Cameron - I'm not mistrusting him! I'd love to see this stuff made but I don't want him to be cut down by the same people who cut down a certain other member of this community. I just want to make sure he's being safe. Sorry if there was misunderstanding, I tried to make it clear that I wasn't concerned about it.
  2. I think I've just used it a lot and the plastic has been worn and stuff. Of course, as usual, my dad is like, "Back in my day we didn't even have joysticks." Go blow it out your...
  3. Give me a scenery for BC and I'd gladly pay $100.00 for one copy of it.
  4. Could you please provide some documentation... just remember what has happened in the past when documentation wasn't included Just for your sake. No one will stop you unless someone is looking for a loophole.
  5. I think you completely missed the point - I repair things as a hobby and I can't figure out how to fix this. The little nob does nothing to do with tension. That's grip height. Here is a really crappy diagram of whats going on.
  6. Ok that title probably deterred most people from reading this, but if anyone else has the X-52 throttle & stick, I'm just wondering if anyone else is getting pissed at how floppy it is. If I hold the little metal piece that goes into the joystick, then it's strong, but the plastic grip flops by about 3 degrees each way. This makes it impossible to fly light sports aircraft that require precision (or any plane, for that matter). Still not satisfied with this grossly overpriced thing. Any help will be loved (like if there is a screw that I can tighten inside, a piece that needs replacing - anything). I mean, honestly, my malfunctioning Extremed3dPro (which was amazing but malfunctioned) has more accuracy and feels way more firm and unwobbly than the X-52. Please help. Note: The biggest flop is in the pitch - at the top of the stick, i can push it forward almost a full 3/4 of an inch and the actual controls entering the box on the bottom won't move yet. There is a mechanical null zone.
  7. Thanks a load I'm usually in on this stuff if it's been on the blog before but I guess I never caught this one. I'll leave grass out then.
  8. Ok I've been messing with the default textures included with the pack from the .org, but I can't get them to stop lining up and looking like a cultivated field... any suggestions? If you have a good, working .for file for grass, could you include the code in your response?
  9. Way too good...... wow. Btw, are those full custom objects for the terminal? And are those the default forests? Just wondering. Also how do you, personally, go about creating hold lines? Mine are ugly and take too long.
  10. I don't usually judge people... but what could I expect?
  11. Alright - I was just wondering. Thanks for the clarification on the image - and I gotta ask about the quote in your signature... who was that directed to? If it was you, it seems very well suited to his personality. Anyways, let's see how this all works.
  12. Cameron, Secondly, "wave of a hand" was meant as a "you can do something without realizing it" (eg, my entire IA for the IB program was deleted from my computer with a wave of the hand). Licensed and paid for? I'd like to see the credits for the little image of Oahu with the "no" symbol over it shown in your product page that you linked me. Sarcasm isn't appreciated ("Standing Ovation"). If you want me to shut down the project, just tell me. I know it will probably suck. Obviously you're far better than me. Cheers.
  13. So here's why I don't like that: ( a ) It costs money. Frankly I can do a better job without being paid. And also you don't run the risk of losing something you paid for because your computer screwed up. ( b ) No properly placed forests. ( c ) No 3D buildings. Sorry, but for VFR, it's kind of nice to have a realistic world. ( d ) Low resolution. ( e ) Airports don't have the level of detail that I have as my standard in my scenery. All in all, it's just not my thing. I want something everyone has the option of having, and something that will make flying in X-Plane amazing, not just more realistic. Cheers. EDIT: Ok, so you beat me on one count: there's a DVD option for that... but I still know for a fact that if people can get it free, they will take it free. EDIT 2: And don't get me wrong - I'm not trying to create "competition" for your site or something, I'm totally against that. I'm not spiteful of payware or something, I just love being able to use my talent for freeware and giving. And plus I love Hawaii. However I did notice something on your website, be wary: http://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/includes/sts_templates/newxa/images/cloudless.jpg is copyright - belonging to Google, from what I know.
  14. News: February 5th, 2013: OahuX Kickoff You know what else is lacking from X-Plane? A good copy of Oahu. Freeware or payware. None of them impress me or utilize the full power of X-Plane and Oahu is such a beautiful place to fly. Only one picture of this so far. More can be read about this new project alongside PHNL at my webstite, pnws.weebly.com. I'd like to throw in that I get around 20fps constant with all this and I still have the crappy old computer. 15. News: February 4th, 2013 Got some taxi lines laid down during my spare at school when I couldn't have been studying due to the fact that people were throwing hacky-sacs around. PICTURES:
  16. Guys chill - look at my first X-Pilot Scenery Project. That was only 4 ago. And I'm now building a very successful PHNL. Don't be harsh on beginners. There is a learning process. I 'm playing this by ear, when I started PHNL I didn't even know what a REIL was. It's all about learning.
  17. Chris could you insert a quote of the code text including and surrounding the area of the lights.txt file? I don't want to screw things up. Thanks
  18. Chris, actually I used this to my advantage - earlier in January I realized the only way to delete a file off of here was to update it to have the title "Hey Cameron please delete this file it actually kind of sucks..." Deputizing = moderators. I don't think we want that fiasco
  19. Now here's a question... how did it get past moderators in the first place? I don't know how file uploads work over at the .org but I know over here it takes half a day for Cameron to heck uploads before they're even available
  20. Lol that seems almost as bad as something I would do. I'm just not quite that stupid. 9/10 for that guy screwing with X-Plane.org!
  21. PHNL Development is paused until 1530PDT Wednesday for tests at school

  22. Now comes the mission: I will dig through X-Plane and find the light intensity definitions. I think. Then again I have no freaking clue of the architecture of X-Plane...
  23. I can't wait! X-Plane needs a good version of this plane! Good luck and I can't wait to see the results, Howard.
  24. Ok guys... when the first edition of XP10 came out and I eagerly awaited the two day download of the demo (remember that overload on the servers?), I was so impressed by how good the lights look... and now they suck. At first I thought maybe it was my gamma settings (which I mess with in weird ways to make it look epic), but no, not even he default settings could make taxiway lights visible from over 200 feet away at night. Any suggestions?
  25. News: February 3rd, 2013 So here it is: finally, after the data-loss fiasco, I have everything back, and it's working better than before. The only scenery that I have in my X-Plane folder is my own and that done by Aerobridge and Chris K (none of which interfere with mine). I spent a good 6 hours re-exporting orthophotos to cut down on size, the download will still be over 1GB. I have also decided that I will release a full Oahu scenery to go with this in the future because the default X-Plane scenery does not match what Hawaii really looks like, and that is truly visible in the pictures below. Hawaii may be green, but not 1997 Mazda 626 green. There is a lot of grey, yellow, brown... pretty much any colour. That shouldn't take long now that I have a good place to get square GeoTIFFS from, which will make it probably no more than a week long project and a month to put in coastal buildings. Without further ado, here are today's photos. Also there is a really crappy video made - my graphics card just can't handle PHNL and QuickTime recording at the same time very well. On average, with "Very High" graphics, I get between 20 and 30 FPS, and I have a 3.5 year old computer with a below average video card even for that time. Cheers! A demo will be released soon with only the southernmost runway included (the one on the islet). VIDEOS: https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/jwJMtAxsSeQ?rel=0 PHOTOS:
