  1. Came across this yesterday and I was so surprised ! Check it out yourself http://www.x-plane.de/index.php?/topic/132-b777-project/
  2. aerosoft link http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/52121-atr-72-for-x-plane-10/page__pid__354362#entry354362 their facebook page link http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.125636584193654.26864.114160422007937&type=3
  3. A bit harsh don't you think ? Nevertheless outerra is great but it is not yet a Flight Sim. So no point comparing it with X-Plane.
  4. A really interesting question and find !!! That should give the correct illumination of lamp..Would like a detailed explanation on this. Anyone ?
  5. I have registered myself for the evaluation. I guess this weather engine can be implemented in X-Plane 10 via plugin.
  6. I was completely blown off after seeing this !! Just amazing !! Wish we had this engine in X-Plane 10. In the second video you actually see how it feels like to ACTUALLY fly through the clouds unlike X-Plane 10 in which visibility drops to zero as soon as you touch the cloud layer.
  7. Looks so gorgeous !!
  8. RC1 destroyed my frame rates. With b7 and even in beta 10 i was getting 26fps with cumulus overcast, visibility mvfr and cloud sliders to 40%. Now with the same settings I am getting 21 fps. I am dead sure this has something to do with opaqueness of the clouds. In beta 7 I figured out that if I push my opaqueness cloud slider to 100%, I was getting an fps boost ranging from 4 to 5 in overcast clouds. Maybe the clouds in RC1 aren't that opaque anymore and we can't set the opaqueness because that option is gone.
  9. Now that is really weird. My frame rates went down aswell after the latest update.
  10. This is how the clouds looked in earlier betas. gosh i miss those clouds so much... I have already notified Austin about it. Filed a bug report yesterday. He says he will look into it for beta 11.
  11. I wish I hadn't updated to beta 10...
  12. that is indeed bad news
  13. agreed. There is something wrong with the clouds.
  14. LOL ! Will be patiently waiting for the shots of that varied ground spill lighting. P.S - I'd love animated moths casting shadows on ground running on their dedicated flight models !!!
  15. Amazing work Simmo ! Just a request.. Can you alter the city lights with a mixture of red and white along with the sodium with a bit more spill? Like just take a small area with a couple of houses and light poles and do some testing. Only if you have time. Thanks !
  16. I'll be more than happy if you link this video at your blog . The 3d clouds and the flight model of X-Plane 10 never stops to amaze me ! I had to literally break my flight yoke to keep my aircraft steady.
  17. I'm glad you like it
  18. Default - 4 AI aircrafts - 20 fps XPFW - 4 AI aircrafts - 24 fps
  19. I'm on it rightaway !
  20. Amazingly the same thing happened with me ! This is indeed very very weird...
  21. I would really like to see a variety in the colour of lights. A mix of red, white and orange lights would look great and much realistic at the airport aswell as for the city !
  22. It's actually an 8 core processor with Hyper threading enabled which makes it a 16 core. So basically if you have an intel core i7 8xx or 9xx series then you have a 4 core processor with hyper threading which makes it an 8 core ! If you have an i7 then press ctrl - alt- del and have a look at the task bar. It will show you 8 threads ( meaning 8 core ). Intel's new hexa core processor i7 980x has six cores with hyper threading meaning it will show you 12 cores in the task bar ! So basically each AI airplane on a seperate core. 12 cores means that you can have 12 AI airplanes with almost zero fps hit.
