It should work. Only the saitek panels need plugins etc to work properly because of the displays and the commands that these panels control. Saitek offers a manager for PC but thanks to xplane pref system you don't have to have it on a mac. If it possesses axis's and buttons you should be good. But do double check and look one last time to see if someone else has it on a mac or you could probably contact saitek through their contact on the website. You ought to check ebay or just search saitek flight sim in google for a used joystick eventhough its probably still going to send you to amazon. At the end of the day it still comes down to what you are willing to pay for it. 8)

Well it could be the direction of the faces and the way the normals are facing. that might be why you are seeing different things at different angles. Other than that if might just be what they call a color thrash when basically the two textures are so close on top of one another that the bleed together. I'd be glad to look at it but thats all i could promise. It really depends on how many objects are messed up and how fs2xplane grouped the objects together. I bought Imagine sims charlotte and fixed it when they said it couldn't be done but it does take some time to get it to look good after its done. Just a random question but are you getting any errors with textures and from the looks of it is everything there? I've heard a lot of different opinions on that particular airport but I figured its because people aren't really buying it and some are. most fs2004 stuff you actually buy, actually converts.

out of my years of posted answers that has got to be the best post I've read. No need for 4 million kazillion tirangles outside. We like to fly from the inside. Nicely said my friend.

Well just because your bases are at 2800 doesn't mean your visibility will be good.. I might just be a problem with the visibility. If this is a weather issue and your at 19 fps, look in another direction, you should see your view start to get clear. And for all of this checking and feedback, make sure you have the FPS box checked so you can see your exact numbers.

Seriously Indi- I have no idea what that is supposed to mean. well actually I do. That has got to be the most immature thing you have posted in quite sometime. Do you get enjoyment on belittleing other peoples posts and concerns. Its sad but I posted in the renders section that everyone around here was so talented and such a close nit group that I didn't feel like I could ask questions or make comments for the fear that they would sound NOOBISH. Do you know who I was referring too? YOU Say what you want about Dan's Plane which is a little on the simpler side but still a great plane. He finished it under 2 years and sold the crap out of it. I'm 28 years old and don't feel like reading a post that you would probably ban someone for. I'll say this.....If the posting in this forum doeesn't change a little to be more accoumadating to everyone without the rant post like that, then all you developers will be wondering where the sales are cause if it. So because of your immature post this will most likely have to be locked because it will change into something totally different than voicing an opinion for an upcoming plane from an awesome developer. I'll accept that answer from Rollon but not you. last I checked you weren't developing that aircraft. I would only hope he broke for that idea just so I could quote it later.

Heres an idea for the FMC. A lot of my friends and fellow simmers that I talk too are on the fence now about the CRJ. Would it be possible to offer two versions. One version just like it is. Few systems and no programming on the fms. The one thing I have found is that almost every single plane that is programmed will not work with any external add on such as go flight instruments and saitek panels. Its very frustrating trying to get the full realism of a plane within the sim by clicking eternally on the left click mouse button. I have not paid 1000.00 dollars for things to fly with by clicking the mouse. There would not be any harm done to the hype of this plane in my opinion. Second option would be wait and wait for the programming to be done and then offer the full version of this plane for your intended price or offer an upgrade price if you bought the first plane and want more. One thing to remember is that programming a plane is not entirely necessary. I know everyone here talks about it and it would offer a great new venue into the market. Breakthrough if you will. But always remember there is nothing wrong with offering a plane two ways, not programmed and programmed or an update version if you will. JB

Thanks Cameron and Tom. I'll give that a go. JB

I love the fact that you have asked the community what they want you to build. Although the military is a good choice, whats the purpose in such a plane? I don't want to make guys mad which I'm sure I will but I think as a developer you will want to maximize the return on such a project. With what I have seen from the GA department and what you have already done with the crj200, you will have lots of VA's wanting to support your work. I'm COO at X-usairways a new VA shortly on its way at Christmas and we will be pushing your CRJ. I would love to see as well as a lot of other VA's would love to see another great regional or commuter type aircraft. ERJ of any kind. or even go bigger with the likes of a 757 or 767. XPFR did a great job but are not planning to update because lack of staffing. Programming could be kept to a minimum. The average x-plane user will not need all of the programming that you do. Granted it is nice and much appreciated but I know they will be happy if the plane looks great and flies great. After all, thats what most of us are after. Plus it would keep cost down and many pilots would be able to shell out 25 or 30 dollars for a great plane. Putting an aircraft like this would really generate a lot of interest in the VA world and really provide a great return for you and anyone else working on the project. Thanks for giving us a chance to voice an opinion on this matter. you guys really have something good at this forum where the buyers can be real close to the developers. Much appreciated. Justin

Hey guys, I'm a noob but a learning noob when it comes to the 3d world. There are so many talented 3d artists in this forum I almost don't feel like I can ask noobish questions. I'm starting in the 3d world with simple things. I'm kind of learning my way around in messing with fs objects converted over and imported into ac3d. I know thats not the program of choice but I like it. I wanted to know if you guys had links to rendering programs. Ac3d may have some but I can't seem to find the program through the manuals. I'm not asking for a step by step guide, but some direction in finding some good information. Thanks in advance. Justin www.x-usairways.com (coming soon)

Hey, Yes if your Concrete bmp is missing, thats a big one. That basically means all of your taxiways and runways designated by that texture are not visible. Obviously right? If you have another conversion you have recently completed, you can look to see if you can find another concerte texture from another package to replace the one that conversion did not bring. One thing to look at..... Go to your nav folder in this scenery pacakge and see if you have two .dat files. one might be apt.dat and full.dat of something of that nature. If you do have both of them try renaming the full.dat to apt.dat and delete the other. To go off of what Cameron said, you will more than likely have to edit it once its done. Just think of it as a clean up. Very few convert completely accurate. Usually every conversion from MSFS has invisible runways in xplane. you'll have to open it up and make sure that the runways in their designated spots are visible.

Hey Samen and others that have sucessfully installed these scripts. To key you in on what I have done. I have installed blender I have installed the xplane to blender scripts correctly but when I try to install the mac versions of these scripts my command window opens gives this text with a lot of errors and nothing actually is happening installation wise. Any ideas? After trying to install I open Blender and go to import and look for the .mdl fsx model import and it is not there. I do see the xplane obj imports and the likes. Has anyone been able to open this link. I've been searching in google for these but to no success. Could you display the link again. From a 3d developer wanna be, this is a great tutorial you are doing. I've found that looking and taking apart what other people have done really is a great tool to work with. I find blender and ac3d tough programs to start from scratch, but what you did with the 330 is great to take apart and learn what things do and how they work. Thanks for sharing this and I can not wait till the next installment of your animation tutorials. JB

Ok I FOUND IT. If anyone else runs into this problem. To override what x-plane tells it too based on the amount of vertices just add this line ATTR_LOD 0.000000 10000.000000 That will fix and draw it out about 2 and a half miles. Thanks
-
Ok well here is the only thing. If you look at the pics above you can see all kinds of objects behind the scenery. The one thing that I don't understand is why won't these simple objects in front not draw before the scenery in the background. I'm just a beginner in 3d stuff. I'm trying to learn but its slow, but i figured I would get the best help and answers from X-pilot. Thanks for the answers so far. Once I get my mind wrapped around the lingo, i think that will give me somewhere to go. If you guys have an idea that might work like adding a particular LOD ATTR. let me know. ANything that can get me off and running. Justin
-
Hmmmm . I saw that Sully and tried to assign a few different values. But now that I read your reply it kind of makes sense. I wish I new the default value for such things like default buildings. That value would be perfect. Has anyone actually set an LOD to an object. Is the value feet, meters, etc. I'll keep searching and researching. Justin

hey guys, I've been trying to take a visit back to my red bull scenery and do a few things. I made some custom boxes to represent sponsers logos and such around the gates. Here is my problem. Objects apear fine and look great BUT as I'm going through the course it seems like since the objects are not heavy in Poly's or triangle verticies, x-plane waits until the last minute to draw them. Almost as you are going through the course. Its like coming into an airport thats pretty heavy in objects and you know the closer you get to the runway the more objects start drawing in, this is exactly what I'm experiencing. Question is= Is there a Line ATTR that I can attach to this file so that the objects will draw no matter what your object draw distance is? If so what is it or could you point me in the right direction. i have tried the LOD ATTR to no avail. These objects do not have enough verticies to demand use for a LOD ATTR. Any ideas? I'm at least high object draw distance if not minimal at medium. justin

Ever wanted to be a Red Bull Race Pilot? Well here were my attempts at living a dream. WOW isn't X-plane great. If anyone has liveries for this plane or would be interested in doing some of the popular ones, contact me. I'm not a livery guy, not to mention it definitely would look good in my next video in London City by the Millennium Dome. Hope you guys enjoy. Justin

I tried to do this video as a team videoing planes in and out of KLAX. I hope you enjoy it. I also wanted to incorporate x-aviation planes, but I just couldn't record at a nice framerate. Thanks guys, Justin

yeah I know.. The one good thing about planes like this are the fact that most people can run them on there machines. The modeling is not too crazy in poly counts etc. The stuff that XA puts out is heads above anything running on x-plane, I have them all,but they are all very demanding of a great machine to properly run on. Something like the 787 is a good mix of everything; brand new plane that no one has done, the need for virtual cockpits, runs great on most machines with a nice resolution, and just a solid plane; not over-complicated or simple but solid.
-
You know from the last vids, he has made some serious progress on this plane. The cockpit looks pretty good. Does anyone know the final asking price on this puppy. I might just have something to play with this Summer. Looks like a few of the big dogs are going to come out and play around Christmas.... Cough..... CRJ.....

Took the 757 for a spin... Destination San Fransisco INTL Turned it around and took straight back up into the air. Enjoy Justin

Any idea how to expand the GPS in the 172??
JB_XUSA replied to azpdec's topic in I'm New To X-Plane!
Flyingtak you are probably on the best track. Thats the one thing that x-plane does poorly. It doesn't really give the user full control over the view and zoom of things. Some have figured this out and I would try downloading planes from the org to see if you can find one with an enhanced view and maybe try to see if it helps you out. I'm not sure if in x-plane you can change the values of the gauge in the 2d and then get a different resolve in the 3d. Try it. Its been awhile since I messed with Planemaker. I'm not sure if the new version is supporting anything like that at this time. Oh and when you upscale the GPS the whole thing should get bigger including the screen, not just the controls. JB -
Thanks very much. Caught some wind of the upcoming CRJ and I thought I would sign up to keep track of it and see where she is headed.
