    Karma

Commenting on other peoples Karma is very bad Karma.
  2. I worked (as an engineer) from the sixties untill recently on airliners, the steam driven to the digital wonder planes, and have to say the older types have, as Nicola_M says "soul". Flying an airbus is a computer game, you switch in the FMC and it does it all. You sit there, a monitor of 27 computers (using commodore chipsets). A B747-200 while having at its disposal multiple avionic systems, required that they all had to be worked. Its difficult to describe really. Sitting in the cockpit of an airbus was a sterile experience, they dont even smell like they should. Old airliners in the dead of a dark night were spooky places to work, something I never sensed in an digital machine.
  3. Yep, sorry about that, its supposed to be humour. I see i've been demoted karmatically. Are we allowed to know about current progress, a approximate date of release, or does that bring further disapproval?
  4. I dont think you can say "not to be a smart ass but thats two words". Pointing out the deficiencies of the previous post automatically makes you a smart ass, even if you deny it. And I note that it is not only two words but six letters. Kai Tak is named after two businessmen, Sir Ho Kai and Mr. Au Tak, who were involved in a company formed to reclaim land in Kowloon Bay for a residential housing scheme. The Company, unfortunately, failed and the reclaimed land was left vacant. The suitability of using this land as an airfield was recognized and the first recorded flight from Kai Tak took place on Lunar New Year's Day in 1925. Now that is real smart assery.
  5. Well I certainly didnt think that I was in any way pressurising the team by making the occasional enquiry. Imagine the captain making the announcment that they were going to build a 747-200 and there was no feedback. Total silence. They would think "well whats the point". So I occasionally ask what is the state of play just to let them know that there is an audience and that audience is interested in their progress and looking forward to flying the aircraft, also to let them update us in a more general sense if they wish. So my enquiry is more of a "Hi were all still here" than a "what the hell are you doin".
  6. How is your project going captain?
  7. a 2 and 400. best to release them on Dec 24th cos it must be christmas!
  8. Stunning Captain, stunning.
  9. A captain, dont let me slow you or discourage you, I dont have the slightest doubt that this is going to be a great success.
  10. Why is my Karma -1. I work at Karma. There have been occasions in my life where I really could have stuck it to someone I didnt like, but I didnt, because it would be bad Karma. So I join X-pilot and they give me -1 as my Karma score. Rashid Pundit Ashima gave me a +7. She knew something.
  11. So that is the addition, an extended cockpit, another 6 yards of fuselage, another 60 passengers. What would you call that?
  12. Not a big red clowns nose man, I mean I really want a decent 747 but not with a big red nose. However, thinking about it, attaching wings to it would be ok.
  13. Good day Captain, how is the project going?
  14. So what happened?
  15. Thank you gentlemen.
  16. I wonder if anyone knows of scenery for NZ. I recall reading about some a couple of years ago but other than the occasional area such as Auckland am unable to find any.
  17. I just had to sign up and say its great to see someone building the "Queen of the sky" and doing justice to it.
