  1. When you have your flight plan set up correctly, you shouldn't have to worry about when to start your descend!! If you have VNAV activated (you should have it on...) and you are nearing the T/D marking on the ND display, the plane should start descending automatically!! VNAV follows the exact altitudes that are given in the FMC. So if says e.g. at "LBE" FL085, the 777 will be at that level if you leave the autopilot working by itself!! Before you descend you only have to set up the altitude you don't want to be under, so in this approach it would be 3000ft. So you set the autopilot altitude on your MCP to "3000". When you reach "PISAS", you will probably see the ILS markings on your PFD, if they are there, hit APP and the 777 will catch the glide slope and the localizer. Then you can continue on your ILS APP without any problems
  2. Just arrived in Munich coming from Palma de Mallorca. This time I sadly bounced again upon landing
  3. I managed my first smooth landing in the Jardesign A320neo today (and by smooth i mean smooth as silk )!!! SOOO HAPPPYYYY EDDS/Stuttgart to LEPA/Mallorca
  4. Nice to Stuttgart in the FF757
  5. I wish the 152's in Montreal would look like this...
  6. LSZH-LFMN/Zurich-Nice Jardesign A320neo I can recommend this route to anyone who likes sightseeing!!! I took off from Zurich and bursted through the low clouds. Then continued climbing and turning south over the alps. The flight takes about 50 minutes and the scenery you get to see is absolutely stunning!!!
  7. Answered in private message (I hope )
  8. 1. You have the option for a second route in your FMC. So you go on your Route page and click on RTE 2. Then you can enter to whatever airport you want to fly There's also the option that you click on the ALTN page. There you see your nearest alternate airport, how much time it will take to fly there and how much fuel you will have left at the alternate airport. You choose one of the airports and click on it, then click EXEC and you should fly directly to this airport. You can set up the arrival route on your DEP/ARR page. This option is more convenient for your case 2.NEVER OVERSPEED!!! If you overspeed the aircraft can have structural damages and might break apart. Use the speed brake to slow the aircraft down and adjust your rate of descend if you overspeed
  9. I'm glad it worked!! I am not a Pilot at the moment, but i'm almost there And I am spending a lot of time with the aircrafts I fly with in X Plane+the real world, so i guess it's just experience that came over the years
  10. Depends where you are starting from If you have a planned route from airport A to airport B, then you first set up your STAR approach and select the runway you are wanting to land on. The FMC then sets the correct Nav frequency and all you need to do is, when you are in range of the ILS signal, press the APP button on the MCP. The 777 will then activate LOC and GS and you will be able to do an ILS landing
  11. Once again on my way from Zurich to Shanghai in the FF77W Flight time: 10 hours 56 minutes I arrived in Shanghai and had to do an automatic landing because of the Smog...
  12. You need to install winter textures!! http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=25044 Or install simple season, which changes the textures based on temperature: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=18061
  13. I had a wonderful day flying in the Canadian north!! Started off in Montreal and flew to Kuujjuaq. Then continued to Iqaluit and a roundtrip to Pangnirtung Departing Montreal in the morning: Touching down on Kuujjuaq's icy runway Sun is setting as I approach Iqaluit Parked at the ramp in Iqaluit, pitch black at 3:30pm
  14. Just joking guys A wave of excitement for this aircraft overcame me and I had to post those images which are obviously not from me... All credits go to JarDesign and their wonderful work!!
  15. Since the wind is really strong currently in Europe, it's time to practice some extreme crosswind take-off's and landing's Düsseldorf to Hamburg in the JarDesign 320neo Very nice forecast for Hamburg... Cruising with strong crosswinds and turbulences! Sorry Pax, no service today Approaching Hamburg with gusts up to 50!! knots!! I managed a landing that didn't kill me and my pax, but the left wing touched the runway...
  16. No problem You can always count on Swiss-Engineering
  17. Maybe reset the failures in the 757 menu and click the maintenance button Or you are doing a hot start, by turning on the fuel valve to quickly
  18. Either ATC or the FMS is equipped with the ALTN page. There you can view the closest airports that have a long enough runway to land and the time it takes you to get there Plus in your flight briefing package you have some alternate airports planned in
  19. My statement was not really meant to criticize anybody or anything I am flying in the real world as well, so i know that X Plane's flight dynamics are a bit difficult if you never flew in this sim before
  20. On my way from Munich to Düsseldorf I let a real life A320 pilot fly the Jardesign 320neo in X Plane and he didn't manage to land it softly even after 5 tries... So it is literally impossible to land it softly...
  21. Shut the engine down by pulling the fuel valve handle under the throttle lever. Then you discharge the left engine fire bottle. Under the Throttle Quadrant there are two red handles. If you pull the left one to the left or right, the extinguisher will discharge. See if one discharge extinguishes the fire. If not then pull the handle in the opposite direction to discharge the second bottle. Then disconnect the generators and the left engine bleed air. Start an emergency descend to FL170 and start the APU+connect the APU Gen and the APU Bleed to power the hydraulics and to keep the packs alive. Then divert to the nearest adequate airport Have fun and good luck!!
  22. Which version are you using? If you have 1.5.3 it's 64bit only!!!
  23. What a flight!! I blasted off from Skiathos tiny runway at full thrust and continued over the frozen and snowy lands of eastern Europe. On approach into Munich, severe turbulences made me struggle to descend and finally it was pouring rain and 0 visibility at Munich... So I ended up with a CatIII auto land at Munich, what a shame... But the 757 handled all this weather very well and the landing was very smooth!!
  24. Yeah, i think it might have been a "random failure" of the 757. Because today i tested the same approach again, and i was perfectly aligned with the runway So probably my IRS failed without noticing Thanks for the efforts!!
