Hey folks, I'm TOTALLY new to X-Plane having some over from FSX and I'm really struggling to get my head round some basic functions. Ultimately I want to know if they are even available in X-Plane 10 for a start!

Basically, I like to have a little window open when in 2D cockpit mode which shows me a little shot of the exterior of the plane or wing view. This is easily achievable in FSX, but I can't figure out how to do it in X-Plane?

Can any one help? Just to clarify, this is not a dual monitor set up.

Secondly, is there any way to get rid of this horrible spot plane view where the camera moves away from the plane when turning? I like the camera to be locked onto the plane (like is FSX) so that I don't have to keep adjusting the view (especially for landing).

I hope that makes sense and any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Ouch, that's not good. Why doesn't something as simple as a second view exist? Are there plugins available?

I'm not aware of one. I suppose one could exist, but can't say for certain.
