Ben Russell Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 I would like some assistance from anyone willing to beta test. This is a replacement for the Gizmo.plugin package in your X-Plane/Resources/plugins folder. Please make a backup of your existing Gizmo.plugin package before installing this one. The update may not work on your machine. The 10.6 beta is here:http://dl.dropbox.com/u/948813/Gizmo/10.6.tech_demo/mac/Gizmo.plugin.zipI have also prepared a small scripts package for the X-Plane 9 default Cirrus Jet.Unzip this file in the same folder as c4.acfhttp://dl.dropbox.com/u/948813/Gizmo/10.6.tech_demo/cirrus_jet_scripts.zipHopefully if everything goes well you will get to play with this for 10 minutes:( time intentionally short, panel placement intentionally annoying, this is a tech demo. ) Quote
YYZatcboy Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 It works fine on my Macbook Pro. Negligible FPS hit. The only request is an indicator showing the aircrafts position, even if it's just a fixed graphic. I'm going to try it CAT3 conditions in the mountains. Quote
vh Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 I had no Gizmo.plugin package. Tried putting the script in a scripts subfolder of the aircraft's folder then in the aircraft's folder itself, with the plugin in resources/plugins.An extra triangle widget BELOW the pulldown menu of XP's Plugins menu. appears The widget is below the last plugin (XHSI) under the menu background (i.e. in the sky area below) with no word to its left. Mac OS 10.6.2 / XP 9.50rc3. Quote
Ben Russell Posted June 28, 2010 Author Report Posted June 28, 2010 vh:Have you previously installed either the Falco or the Cessna 400 Corvalis? These packages contain full instructions on installing Gizmo correctly. This tech demo assumes that you had a working copy of Gizmo installed before you tried to follow any instructions here.If you do not you can find instructions for installation here: http://x-plugins.com/wiki/Gizmo Quote
vh Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Well that explains it. Extracted the libcurl.framework to /Library/Frameworks. No joy. I do not understand the folder structure's logic - the A and the aliases; there is no ReadMe in the package. Quote
Ben Russell Posted June 29, 2010 Author Report Posted June 29, 2010 Sorry to disappoint but this is a beta tech demo that was intended for people that already have a working copy of Gizmo fully installed and working. The process of which is fully documented and proven. (Instructions with actual product$ may be more complete than free instructions on the wiki..) Quote
