Tips for Aircraft Development

Hey Everyone,

I want to start creating 3d aircraft for x-plane. I was wondering if anyone could provide me with some tips on creating aircrafts. Tips such as what software is needed (pay or free) and some links to tutorials.

The first thing you need to think about is what type of aircraft.  Please don't be like everyone else who starts making aircraft by building a popular airliner.  You need to learn to crawl and walk before you can run.

Choose something small and easy like some kind of ultralight or single engine GA.  You will learn a lot and you will see your creation take flight a lot sooner than something a lot larger.

Download Blender.  Check their forums for ideas and tips.  Youtube has an excellent collection of videos on Blender modeling tutorials.  Don't rush.  Take the time to learn.  It's ok to make mistakes.  That's how you learn.
