WIPilot Posted July 25, 2014 Report Posted July 25, 2014 I just purchased the C23 Sundowner and it looks great and works alright except one thing! The Enigine or RPM not sure but at Full throttle the engine seems to produce 2100 to 2200 max RPM when I believe the correct should be more like 2500. The RPM gauge even has the green arc to 2600RPM. I seen that another guy posted this same thing a while ago but you guys never followed up on it?I am using X-Plane 10.25 Any chance we can get an update/follow up?
Goran_M Posted July 26, 2014 Report Posted July 26, 2014 Wow. Is that beast still around??; Ok, give me a day or 2 and I'll take a look.
AeroPictor Posted July 26, 2014 Report Posted July 26, 2014 Dear Goran_M your elder work is still in use, small and beautiful … If only time would allow more hours to explore the world onboard of your planes
jboyd Posted February 3, 2015 Report Posted February 3, 2015 Any progress on this? Just purchased as well since I fly one routinely except in the polar vortex winter here. A little tweaking on the power issue noted above and the opportunity to add the latest Garmin 430 in version 10.3 would allow me to practice instrument just like sitting in the real thing. I can provide some real world numbers if helpful. Thanks!
Goran_M Posted February 3, 2015 Report Posted February 3, 2015 I was actually working on this late at night last year, and totally forgot about finishing it the next morning. Thanks for reminding me.I'll take a look and see what I can find. Putting it in my planner. As for the Garmin, I'll consider it.
WIPilot Posted February 3, 2015 Author Report Posted February 3, 2015 Heck I would pay an upgrade fee to have this plane upgraded for the latest XP. this is my favorite a/c of all time and was stoked to see a great looking one for XP then bummed to see the bugs! Happy to actually see some response here now hopefully we will see this baby in the virtual skies soon!
jboyd Posted February 4, 2015 Report Posted February 4, 2015 Thanks Goran. It's a really nice model. Please let me know if I can provide any data.
jboyd Posted February 8, 2015 Report Posted February 8, 2015 Ok, here's where I've tinkered with the model- Engine set at 120hp, prop diameter to 2.99, speed through prop 110 at 2500rpm. Empty weight up to 1588 from 1288. CG- moved the aircraft and fuel tanks back another .2 feet. Putting in actual flight plan fuel, passengers, baggage model performs pretty close to real world for me. Now for the bonus- under Standard, Systems there is a block on the lower left side for FMS/GPS- set both to use modern ARINC424 and you get the version 10 Garmin 430.
Goran_M Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 I'll give those numbers a try and see what happens.
xflyermat Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Any news on progress? Would love to see it updated with fixes I use it as a training aid for flying the real thing.
Goran_M Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Still looking at things and working on some new mesh for an added Garmin. There's been a large change in the LES world (which I'll disclose soon) and I've had to re-organize a few things and overcome a bit of an obstacle. Work is continuing, though.
WIPilot Posted March 26, 2015 Author Report Posted March 26, 2015 Glad to see your working on it please keep us updated!
WIPilot Posted July 24, 2015 Author Report Posted July 24, 2015 Any updates on this one? This plane has been in the hangar since the day i bought it due to the engine power issue. The plane is magnificiant just the power issue! Updated GPS would be a bonus but isnt a must for me. Thanks!
Goran_M Posted July 24, 2015 Report Posted July 24, 2015 http://forums.x-pilot.com/topic/7799-interest-check-duchess-c23-sundowner-update/#entry84380 There's a lot going on in the LES "offices" at the moment...things I can't discuss. But I've finished the new exterior mesh of the C23 and the flight model is about half done.I'm working on it, just no timeline yet. I can look into wrapping up the flight model and issuing it as an update, but I'll have to discuss that with Cameron.
WIPilot Posted July 24, 2015 Author Report Posted July 24, 2015 this is great to hear! keep us posted!
