Magne Tjørhom Posted July 22, 2014 Report Posted July 22, 2014 Hi, is the real weather suppose to act like this? It image the real weather perfectly but my big problem is the wind. If the wind is 5 kts, it's the same in any altitude, with no wind shear or something. I thought the challenging weather factor setting would make the weather more interresting that the default real weather in x-plane. I had no problem installing it, have installed all the plugins from the installation software and found no conflicting weather plugins prior to installing ultra-vx. I had no error warnings during install and the the software is communicating with x-plane. So why is it setting the wind the same in any altitude with no variation? Am i doing something wrong or is it suppose to act like this? Thanks for any help. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
glenner Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 From what I've experienced, I believe it feeds X-Plane winds based on your airplane altitude. For example when my plane was on ground, winds were 12 and when I changed the planes altitude to 10000, winds were 35. I haven't had a chance to check for shear winds and gust yet. It probably does it this way in order to provide a smoother transition in wind changes. Quote
frankbyte Posted August 3, 2014 Report Posted August 3, 2014 Hey guys, just to let you know that the winds are completely wrong when using EFASS. At least the upper winds. I informed the support already but never had any answer. Just compare the real wind charts with the ones you get in EFASS and you will see Quote
Jorge Uvo Posted August 3, 2014 Report Posted August 3, 2014 huuuum, really???? I am using NOAA plugin from Joan (now it is working fine on Mavericks) and to ensure that it is simulating correctly the upper winds I compared now the X-Plane with the winds charts and they are matching. Quote
Jose Almeida Posted August 4, 2014 Report Posted August 4, 2014 Hi Jorge, What do you think has changed in Joan's NOAA plugin to solve the Mavericks problem? To me it seems that it still needs to be re-downloaded each time, after deleting all the files from the previous install. José Quote
Jorge Uvo Posted August 4, 2014 Report Posted August 4, 2014 Olá José... Did you see my reply to you in the ORG forum? If you tried it and it still not working you might have skipped something. I confirmed with another 4 guys and they all have the NOAA plugin working now. Quote

Yes the NOAA-plugin works very well and the winds accurate. But the upper winds from EFASS are completely wrong. 1 Quote
