Goran_M Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 Any Planned updates for the DC3? Does there need to be?
azpilot Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 No, but I would like to see a newer style cockpit with a little more detail throughout the VC cabin. I was just wondering if you had any future plans for it.
Goran_M Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 Highly unlikely. Newer cockpit would need new mesh, textures, code. Probably would need to be completely reworked from scratch. The cabin is deliberately left at "lower" detail than the cockpit for performance reasons. (The entire mesh, exterior and Interior is about 1.6 million polygons as it is) IF we even decide to modernize it, it would definitely be a paid upgrade and paid upgrades are often frowned upon by customers.
Vinny003 Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 Hi, guys!I really enjoy flying the DC-3 with good old fashioned 1930s style analog gauges!!! Cheers, Vincent
azpilot Posted July 6, 2014 Report Posted July 6, 2014 Thanks Goran. As is it's a beautiful plane, but I would definitely pay for it.
wim1976 Posted July 9, 2014 Report Posted July 9, 2014 Yep, and the sticky tires when you taxi on terrain also. But it is still going strong.
mikeporter10 Posted July 5, 2015 Report Posted July 5, 2015 I had posted earlier on my issues with the aircraft - but don't believe I got a response. 1. Taxi behavior - typically requires exaggerated correction. Landing gets interesting when transitioning to taxi.2. Interior lighting - difficult to see nav/com tuning knobs.3. Cowl flaps - open/close hampered by #2 and guesswork on flap condition. Have to confirm by using exterior view! Mike
Goran_M Posted July 7, 2015 Report Posted July 7, 2015 I'll have a look at these points and post back. Just for clarification, are you using the free castoring tail wheel or the steerable version?
