Viability of Certain Upgrades

Another year has come, with more new GPUs and CPUs

 

Currently I have the following

• i5-3570
• Gigabyte Z77X-D3H 
• 2x4GB SAMSUNG ECO RAM
• GTX 650 Ti 1GB VRAM
• 1TB HDD
• 120GB SSD

I am looking at upgrading certain things and would like to see your opinions on them, so thank you in advance for your advice

1. I would like to upgrade to 16GB RAM, however my RAM is no longer made... Will X-Plane use the extra RAM or is it not worth it?
2. Obviously with the amount of new GPUs coming out I am hesitant to upgrade. Would it make sense to go for something like the 780 now or wait a year until it is half-priced?
3. Any one have a good, simple water-cooler they could recommend?

2. I'd go for it. Nvidia has recently dropped the prices of the 770 and 780 dramatically, to make room for the 780Ti.

 

3. I really like Corsair's water coolers. Really just depends on how big your case is, if you can fit it, the H80i is a good performer in the 120mm segment.
