KBRD218 Posted February 16, 2013 Report Posted February 16, 2013 Hello everyone, I have been flying X-Plane for a while now, and have always used the keyboard/mouse combo for flying. I know thats really lame for any seasoned veteran, but its all I knew. Anyway, I recently purchased a Saitek joystick and have tried it out and everything works great. My main question is are there any tips or tricks I can use to get more comfortable using it. It seems awkward, maybe just takes time to get used to, I don't know. Thanks. Quote
Panman Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 Practice practice practice ... soon you wont recall how you ever managed to do it with the keyboard/mouse 1 Quote
larjeet Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 don't over control use small smooth movements keeping the stick close to the center point 1 Quote
Ntr09 Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 Use trim to your advantage. The goal is to be able to take your hand off of the stick at almost any stage of flight and the plane stays straight and level. Fiddle around with the Linearity sliders and get them how you like. Make sure to slide the Stability sliders all the way off. Have fun! -NR 1 Quote
