Bulacan Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 I just bought the JS32 aircraft, but I cannot get it to recognize my joystick. It does recognize the rudder, but that is it. Has anyone else had this issue and how did you resolve it? I came across this post: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=65196 but unfortunately it hasn't worked for me or maybe I am not understanding it correctly. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Quote
Cameron Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 It is very important you read the manual. Please consult pages 6 and 48. Quote
Japo32 Posted February 13, 2013 Report Posted February 13, 2013 yes.. please read the manual, everything is explained there. The plane works correctly if the right procedures are followed. Quote
Bulacan Posted February 22, 2013 Author Report Posted February 22, 2013 Thanks JRollon and Cameron for replying so quickly. I did figure out the issue. The sasl plugin was not loading. Symtoms for me: Roll axis actually controlled the nose wheel. I could see the nose gear move when I moved my joystick left-right when viewing from the exterior.Pitch axis controlled nothing. Yaw worked as it should. When I started the plane, I would have multiple axes assigned to throttle. This seems to be a common issue. My friend sent me this link: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=65252&hl= The first reply to Javier's post in that link fixed my problem. I had to move the mac.xpl file up into the sasl folder. Problem solved. As long as I don't lock the controls, all settings are saved on exit as well. This may need to be added to the manual. There is a lot of negative talk about the JS32 because of this issue. It is such an awesome plane, I don't want people to avoid it because of this. Make a step in the manual to have users check to make sure all plugins loaded. Something like "After loading the plane, go to Plugins Menu, Plugin Admin, Plugin Information. Verify SASL and JetStream32 plugins are listed." Also make a true installation step to tell users how to register the aircraft. I didn't even know there was registration until I got the SASL to load. I love the plane now that I can fly it. You may want to look into fixing the axes problems, but overall, this plane is worth the money. It is a great plane to fly. Quote

It is such an awesome plane, I don't want people to avoid it because of this. IT IS in the manual... On another note: This section of the forum is for customers who purchased the Jetstream from X-Aviation. This does not apply to customers who purchased from X-Aviation. Our version does not utilize the SASL plugin. Quote
Japo32 Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 Yes please... each costumer to its forum. X-Aviation users here. Store users in the forum that says in the email (x-plane.org) The Sasl plugin is part from the store. Here is different. At the end this is the difference between both shops and the support forum. Here you will find more solutions to answers because it has more time selling the plane, but we won't give support here for people that didn't buy the plane in XAviation. Thanks! Quote
