arb65912 Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 Hi Cameron and Javier, It is not a criticism at all but rather a intention to avoid frustration and time waste for those who might not know about it. After recent Keith's response about CRJ2 SPEED mode, I make things work fine and was very happy to enjoy the newest release of the plane 1.5.2 , I believe. Last night I received email to update CL30 by DDen whic I did. I flew the plane , all good. Then I went back to CRJ2 to make my flight .... boom, not only SPEED mode does not work, I can not make the autopilot to strat flying the plane. When I try to set the SPEED to any value using SPEED know, the value shows momentarily and then it is set to 0, no matter what I do, that probably initiates the autopilot problem. I was really mad, I did not touch CRJ2 at all, I just installed update to a different plane and CRJ2 got messed up. I think anybody would get mad. THEN, it stroke me, I have read somewhere in the forums that there is a bug in CRJ2 that I think will be fixed in the future releases, I think it was Cessna729 showing the workaround for this problem. When you fly the plane using Mach mode, exit the plane still in Mach mode and then load CRJ2 , you might experience the problem I described above. I think that since it was nit just me and it was confirmed by others , if the problem is not going to be fixed, I strongly recommend to add a note about it in the release notes and maybe email that tells about the update. It would definitely save a lot of frustration and time for guys like me who would not knowingly enter Mach mode and then try to fly CRJ2. Other than that, I want to say thank you again for both excellent product , CRJ2 and JS32, the best planes in my opinion for X-Plane so far. Thank you for reading. Cheers, AJ
Cameron Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 This has been a long known problem for many aircraft, not just the CRJ. Sometimes this happens with light settings as well. As far as I am aware, we have no intention of changing anything, so not sure where you read that. It is not a CRJ bug. This is an X-Plane setting that is saved by the sim itself based on your last selection IAS/Mach.
arb65912 Posted January 31, 2013 Author Report Posted January 31, 2013 Hi Cameron, I did not know that it was X-Plane bug but since it messes up flying CRJ2. In this case it would be great to add a note about X-Plane bug in the release notes and maybe email that tells about the update. Unless it is already stated in the release notes. As I said, it would save time and frustration for pilots, that is all I meant. Cheers, AJ
Cameron Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 It's been this way for years and is not such a big problem. We'll consider it, but I don't see a need for any mass announcement. It's well enough known throughout the community to be told (just as you figured out). As this topic has been answered, we'll close this now.
