paintkit section mess

Hi all,

I have just updated the JS32 and checked the paintkit. The tail with its rudder is split up in two parts (see below). When I want to put on a Logo onto the full tail, I have to split it as well. But actually it looks like the two parts don't fit together (tried it with copying and transforming).

So maybe it's a simple question but how do I have adjust the Logo that it is displayed as one Logo on the aircraft? In my example it's the blue part and I don't get them together.

Merry Christmas to all!

Greets Yan

They are not bad news.. they are the normal way to do unwrapping. I have been doing that for 15 years already. You need a 3D painter and the 3D to export. If you import the fuselage and wings in blender.. and export to OBJ wavefront, or 3DS you can paint in 3D in Photoshop CS4 or CS5 (or 6) complete.

If not you have to cut position try... etc.. I did all the logos that last way.. .it is not so complicated. You can see the time between post of a new livery, to know the time it take me each livery to make. More or less 1-2 hours each.

I am not trying to necropost but this is the only topic I can find on this subject. I have done several repaints and am pretty good with photoshop but I have never done a repaint on a 3d model as the source. Is there any tutorial anyone knows of on how to import the obj's into PS. Every conversion I have tried has failed so far. I have tried importing into blender and that seems futile. Thanks in advance

talk to matthew huerta (mhuerta on most x-plane sites) he's my painter and he knows how to do the 3d object painting

Ultra-necro post here.

Did you ever figure out an easier way to paint in 3d? I love the JS32 and want to make SO many liveries for it.  However, the time and fiddling it takes to get things to line up is eating into my precious little flight time.

I've done a few custom liveries for my

twitch stream here: http://www.twitch.tv/atonesir

EDIT: I found a YT video where there is some painting being done in Blender. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vp3q56kTtLY  Looks like it might be helpful, but without an x-plane specific workflow, I'm not sure. Hope this helps.  -aos
