Video card almost dead?

My video card is doing strange things when i run X-Plane. Sometimes I load X-Plane things are alright, other times my screen turns very bright. Like someone cranked up the gamma. I checked my screen and updated my drivers. Im using a Nvidia 7900GS Its about four years old. Is this thing about dead or what?

Unlikely dead or dying.  If you start seeing artifacts on the screen, I would say it's on its way out.  Adjust settings and then set them as default.
