Orcair Posted January 13, 2013 Report Posted January 13, 2013 The engines are not supposed to be painted on the 787 as it saves between 0.5-2% on fuel due to less paint drag...
ShadowIGM Posted January 13, 2013 Report Posted January 13, 2013 The engines are not supposed to be painted on the 787 as it saves between 0.5-2% on fuel due to less paint drag...I didn't mean painted I meant the colour does not look right to me (color in british=colour)
Patrik Hedström Posted January 13, 2013 Report Posted January 13, 2013 Could it be because its made out of carbon fiber? Did not know you where a brit Shadow!
Orcair Posted January 13, 2013 Report Posted January 13, 2013 (edited) I didn't mean painted I meant the colour does not look right to me (color in british=colour)I'm confused now... Edited January 13, 2013 by Orcair

sqrt(-1) Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) Hope it's more bug-free than the real one. While it seems fun to take a pot shot at Boeing, just remember that any aircraft as radically new as the B787 is going to have some teething problems. No manufacturer is immune to this. That said, I hope this model functions as good as it looks. I already have Heinz's Dreamliner and am a bit underwhelmed by it. Keep up the good work! Edited January 14, 2013 by SqrtOfNegOne
ShadowIGM Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 Heinz dreamliner is supposed to by a freeware in the org.
Patrik Hedström Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 Heinz dreamliner is supposed to by a freeware in the org.Say what? I paid for it and now its free!
sqrt(-1) Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) It's not free... The Org Store X-Plane.org It's on sale at the Org Store for $5.00 off. Edited January 15, 2013 by SqrtOfNegOne
ShadowIGM Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 Say what? I paid for it and now its free!Dude it's not free its just it deserves to be a freeware
Patrik Hedström Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 I think its worth the 30$ I paid for.
Michael_Chang Posted January 15, 2013 Author Report Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) computer was stolen, all projects have been halted indefinitely.I'll be online from time to time, but not as often as before, since i'm using my school's computers. I'm really sorry about this, but believe me i'm working as hard as i can to recover my laptop and get back my work. until then, no work will be posted anywhere. Estimated timeline is 6-12 months if i have to recreate the aircrafts, maybe earlier if things work out well Edited January 15, 2013 by Michael_Chang
sqrt(-1) Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 I'm truly sorry to hear that your computer was stolen. No backups?
Patrik Hedström Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 I'm very sorry to here that Micheal. Could you not ask your beta testers to send you the airplane(s)?
ShadowIGM Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 I'm sorry it was stolen so hope you can recreate the aircraft in time
Ryan M. Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 So sorry to hear that. Are you familiar with the member "ruyjo"? I think you gave the ACF to him, so he could make videos. 1
maple-syrup Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 Ok how do you get a computer stolen? Wasn't it at your house?
nascar99 Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 The FSXP group have been in contact with some of the people who have copies of the 787 but are trying to find someone with the 787 GEnx engines. That was the last I heard
princerose Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 I'm so sorry that your Laptop was stolen Michael. I'm sadden because I can see that you really love what you do. Your fan.
ShadowIGM Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 So sorry to hear that. Are you familiar with the member "ruyjo"? I think you gave the ACF to him, so he could make videos. Yah he has a point maybe you gave the aircraft to ruyjo. You can ask for it back.
ShadowIGM Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 (edited) you also can get the same plane from redpiper1 which is I think the most worked on than ruyjo's here's a vid to make surehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RujY2nQZJs Edited January 16, 2013 by ShadowIGM
Michael_Chang Posted January 16, 2013 Author Report Posted January 16, 2013 I still have copies of the plane, but not the original blender files, and since i've done things to them that can't be re-imported, the entire project has been put on hold, until i get a new laptop. i know that ruyjo and redpiper have copies, but each time i send out a beta, i don't include the blender files, to save size, otherwise the plane is like 500 megs
