Hi All,

The Paint kit in the DC-3 package got me tinkering for the first time and I have become totally absorbed in it. Had a lot of problems to begin with as I prefer to use Corel Grapics x4 (Photo Paint x4 ) as it is far more intensive than Corel PaintShop Pro. Well pleased with the initial results (After hours of being nagged by the wife about my excessive use of foul language--Air still reeks of it!!)

Would really like to work on the floats--is there anyway of doing this as they don't look that clever on the default Liveries anyway?? Cheers

Ah, the floats missing from the paint kit is a slight omission on my part. Sorry about that..

What I would suggest is you do in the mean time is open up the float png map in Photoshop (or Photo Paint, whatever you use). Then add in another layer and set that layer to multiply and paint in that layer. That will give you all your colour as well as showing the imperfections and dents that are already there!

Cheers Mate--So new to this 'Malarkey' but really enjoying it so I'll try and work out your instructions--However if you hear of a Nutter hunting a chap called Theo around the back streets of Christchurch take cover--It will be me....

Found it thanks Theo--should have looked harder. I do not use the Paintkit PSD files with Photo Paint (Although I can) I do all my work directly to the PNG files without setting up layers (Again although I can) The highly efficient masking options/processes in CorelPaint X4 (Compared to Photoshop) allows me to accurately isolate anything on the PNG Map work on it/them then combine it/them back in. So far I've found this the most convenient method

Still very early days as far as Liveries go for me yet enjoyable though challenging--Although I've constantly updated the program over the years I've not used it for a very long time and when I did it was for a completely unrelated type of Graphic/Photo editing.

Thanks for all-Edwin

Would it be okay to request a livery for this wonderful aircraft? To any willing artists, I would like to have N8704. It's a beautiful still flying C-47 restoration owned by the Yankee Air Museum near Detroit. If you search the registration, there are tons and tons of pictures available. This aircraft is also a daily visitor to EAA AirVenture flying in passengers. Thanks.

It is currently impossible to do shiny metal liveries for the DC-3 because there is no reflection dataref. It just wouldn't look right.

I'm definitely not one to be picky about reflective textures. If it's a good looking bare metal skin of the likes I've seen done such as JR's Jetstream will do fine for me! Beggar's can't be choosers. If someone is willing to do their best with what we are given to work with, I will be happy.
