Hi there, I have done a few flights in the CL65 and am quite enjoying it so far; it definitely has a steep learning curve but rewarding!

I have a question about uploading leg wind data. I have no issues uploading the flight plan, it goes into SEC and I activate it and it becomes ACT like normal. My issue is then when I go back to the route menu page to get the wind data, I hit send and it does its thing and comes back. I execute and then go check out the leg wind data on the ACT flight plan leg page, and it is all empty. Am I doing something wrong? Or is there a bug or error going around?

Thanks a lot!!!

You're not. This is broken due to a functional change at NOAA. This feature has to be redeveloped from scratch.

While we're at it, the SimBrief import function could use that wind data as well... :-)

What makes that a poor alternative is that there's no guarantee that the forecasted data is still valid; one can generate OFPs days in advance after all.

Correct, but still far better than nothing for most cases where people will probably generate the flight plans within an hour before EOBT and having to enter the data manually.

BTW, how does things work in real life? I'm assuming pilots have to enter the leg wind data from their dispatch OFP as well... or does the real FMS have a function that sends all waypoints via ACARS to some service and gets all the current predicted winds aloft data back, like you seem to have simulated with NOAA data before?

Yes. That’s why it was simulated that way! :)

Nice.

So, is as solution for the NOAA problem on the (foreseeable) horizon, or is it far off?
If the latter, I wonder if we could get the SimBrief import as a 2nd best interim solution.
I guess the development effort ain't that big given that the SimBrief API pull is already
there and copying the contained winds aloft data into the FMS legs data ain't a big
deal. Unless I'm missing something.
