Chock Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 Installed the X-Aviation DC-3, all seemed to go okay, but when I try and select it off the aircraft menu, it tells me that it is either not an airplane or the installation is corrupted. I've tried reinstalling it, but get the same error. Any Suggestions?Al
Cameron Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 Hello, Al,First, lets start with the basics...If you are using X-Plane 9 are you sure you are using version 9.70 (basically the last version of X-Plane 9)? If X-Plane 10 are you sure you are using the LATEST beta version? Also, you may want to re-install if you are in version 9. Perhaps you mistakenly have installed an XP 10 version of the product into X-Plane 9.Thanks for any info. We'll get it figured out! EDIT: Just one more thought! Aside from the above, the only other time I've seen this issue arise is when people do not run the installer and place it into an aircraft folder, then selecting the installer from within X-Plane as if it were an aircraft.I am not saying you have done this, but I figured it would be worth mention just for the fact others may mistakenly do this down the road! Gotta make sure to run the installer!
Chock Posted April 1, 2012 Author Report Posted April 1, 2012 Okay, found the issue and resolved it. I installed X-Plane from the DVD 1 installer, which is apparently not a good idea (I know now LOL), so I donloaded the installer/updater, and just to be sure I also re-downloaded the DC-3 (although I suspect that was not necessary). The downloader updated Z-Plane 10 and then I uninstalled and reinstalled the DC-3 and it was working. So, it seems that installing from the DVD 1 installer is the issue. Thanks for the help incidentally.Al
