docromano Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 I don´t know if this is something for xsquawkbox support or this forum - I guess you will tell me Being a VA pilot, xsquawkbox is active on every flight. The interaction with xp10 works quite well, xsb weather is displayed on the panels and other planes show up there, too. Both are not visible in the crj. Especially other planes would be nice to see to be able to avoid mid-air collisions on busy days. It´s not THAT important, but would be a nice feature to develop/integrate, since it is working fine on all other planes. Quote
mutestyles Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 seems only they show up when not using squakbox flying offline you can see the weather at least on efis Quote
Japo32 Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 We cannot work in squakbox to add those features because they are not our plugin. I always fly in IVAO and don't remember right now if the xplane plugin has the TCAS module as the FSX one..... Quote

philipp Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 We display the weather that is known to X-Plane on the MFD (in 3d-mode only). If Xsquawkbox sets the weather in a way that X-Plane can't generate the WXR picture, then there is nothing we can do about that.Philipp Quote
docromano Posted March 5, 2012 Author Report Posted March 5, 2012 (edited) This Works with other Planes in XP very well - wxr and tcas in combination with xsb. In the Crj it doesnt, which is wgy I assumed a Problem here. Edited March 5, 2012 by docromano Quote
docromano Posted May 11, 2012 Author Report Posted May 11, 2012 I did a few few online flights with some freeware jets, for example the stock 747 that comes with xp10 and an A346. Again, TCAS and weather work very well in those planes, getting their data from XSB. For some reason this data does not make it into the CRJ PFDs. As it is possible to display it in other planes, why not in the CRJ ? It would be really great if you could have a look into this as it makes flying online a lot more realistic and easier. Quote
Japo32 Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 Because to use that function then we would have to delete parts of the MFD that are already programmed. Quote

Especially other planes would be nice to see to be able to avoid mid-air collisions on busy days.It is listed on pages 67 of the CRJ-200 manual (provided in the aircraft folder) that TCAS is not a working item yet in the CRJ-200 model. Weather will display on the MFD but you must use the CDU menu to select it to display. I hope this helps. Quote
docromano Posted May 19, 2012 Author Report Posted May 19, 2012 @KyleThx for that Information! @JapoHmmmm...that´s sad. I will continue to hope for the best and see full XSB functionality in the CRJ. I assume that more than half of all CRJ Pilots do VATSIM flights and they´d probably share my joy about this feature Quote
Kyle Sanders Posted May 19, 2012 Report Posted May 19, 2012 (edited) I am VERY happy with it the way it is but if i HAD a choice out of the things the CRJ does not simulate right now:I personally would like to see-TCAS opeation-a T/D calculator (with consideration to Altitude Constraints in STARs)-TOGA functionality-emergency operation like ADG (also not a MUST but would be cool)-Cabin Pressurization system-Fuel Economy and monitoring systems-Automatic Fuel pump activation upon low fuel pressure in fuel lines-Bright/Dim Switch on EICAS Test Panel-Transponder "IDENT" functionality. (thought i have not tested this on VATSIM with the CRJ2)-EICAS CONTROL PANEL: Flight controls and Anti-Ice pages. The rest are not necessary in flight simulation-Integral Lighting Control and flood lights for cockpit-Landing Gear Manual Release-Plug-in that allows a different way of controlling buttons. The Click and Drag across the screen is the most annoying thing about it (especially if you are poor and can't afford TRACKIR and then you enter 3D mode and then your screen jerks after releasing the drag lol)But i don't expect to see these soon really. I can do without most of this. The buttons plug-in needs to come ASAP but i don't think Javier has any desire to change it now. Edited May 19, 2012 by Kyle Quote

That said, no, we don't have plans to alter this. Quote
