ChuckXpilot Posted April 1, 2024 Report Posted April 1, 2024 I've got probs operating elevation trim, flaps and mixture with both my Saitek control panel and keyboard. My Saitek mixture levers won't activate mixture control, so I've assigned a command to control mixture levers with a couple of my Saitek quadrant buttons. Elevator trim won't operate at all, and flaps operate before takeoff only, then cease to operate after takeoff!!! Also, this aircraft doesn't take off normally, it floats off the runway like a balloon! I'm on Win10 with 32M RAM Cheers ChuckXpilot Log.txt Log.txt Quote

We are planning, for a future update, to add support for controlling the mixture levers via axis. 6 hours ago, ChuckXpilot said: Elevator trim won't operate at all, and flaps operate before takeoff only, then cease to operate after takeoff!!! For pitch trim you must assign the mechanical commands. https://airfightergr.github.io/les_dc3_docs/commands/#pitch-trim. If flaps does not operate after take off, most probable cause is that you have exceeded flaps speed limits, and they have failed. Pay attention to the placarded limits on the panel. 6 hours ago, ChuckXpilot said: Also, this aircraft doesn't take off normally, it floats off the runway like a balloon! DC3 has fat, high lift wings, and if you're taking off without any passengers or cargo, and you are light on fuel, takes off very easily. Edited April 2, 2024 by airfighter Quote
BigWalt1011 Posted yesterday at 03:02 PM Report Posted yesterday at 03:02 PM Hello LES team, I'm currently using V2.0.3 and have a strange issue with the flaps. For some reason they seem to become INOP during a flight. I think what happening is that exceeding 134kts (flaps fully retracted) that somehow xplane is braking the flaps. I find if I got to the xplane failures menu and select the repair option (even if no failures showing) the flaps start working again. I'll be happy to help if you have further questions! Cheers Quote

Do not exceed for full deflection is 97knts. Makes sense X-Plane is breaking it. Quote

Cheers If happened at 134 kts, either the flaps were not 100% fully retracted, or some random x-plane failure kicked in. If you look the flaps limits placard, there are values for each flap position (per 1/4). Those limits are for flaps being stationary. Also the bottom line says "EXTENSION 97kts", which means that you should not try to extend at all, even a tiny bit, if you speed is much higher than 97 kts. All limits have some leeway though. You might extend the flaps at, for example, at 102kts and nothing will happen, but do not push your luck too much. At the end, we left the option to be able to reset the failure, not to make you flight more challenging than anticipated. Quote
