Noob question - Navigraph/FMS updates - a primer, please

Hi everyone,

Please forgive my ignorance, for I am a noob and am coming at this trying to help an Xpilot user whose IT/Systems knowledge is limited, so they've enlisted my help, as I'm marginally more in the know.

In any event, my friend's Xpilot and 3rd-party plugins (Xenviro being the biggest one) all appear to be up to date, yet he tells me the Navigraph FMS data is out of date and doesn't know how to manually update it.

Could you lead us in the right direction, via some advice or pointing me at a manual with specifics on this, if its a complex endeavor?

Just to be clear, this isn’t an XPilot, the Vatsim client, support forum.
 

The easiest way to keep X-Plane’s nav data updated is using Navigraph’s FMS Data Manager app: https://navigraph.com/products/navdata
