Question about TerraMaxx

I just purchased the TerraMaxx plugin for X-Plane, and during the setup (after you start X-plane), when I select AUTOMATIC, it defaults to loading summer scenery, regardless of where I'm located within the sim. When I force it to load one of the winter settings, then it loads up the snowy environment. Here's the problem with that: if I start at an airport near my home (I live in southern Arizona, where we rarely see snow), it will load up the snow textures; not accurate at all.

Is there something I'm missing, or not understanding? Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. Automatic mode will load the most plausible textures for the location you're in. In Arizona's case, the most plausible textures for this location that TerraMaxx has would be summer.
