Hello,

I'm running X-Plane on Windows 10 and have recently reloaded the TBM 900 from Hotstart after not using it for about a year. I can move the black and yellow battery lever to the up position but it just comes back down again so I cannot start the systems. It always worked in the past but not any more.

I've re-installed the aircraft and can operate all the switches using the mouse pointer. To prove I can move switches I checked by opening and closing the door and operating the lights switches, all fine. I've checked the maintenance panel and all systems are green and the battery is fully charged. I have also removed all external equipment (pitot covers, etc).

I've re-reinstalled the software, rebooted the pc but can't solve the riddle.

Am I being thick and missing something obvious?

Thanks

Jim

Please try installing this:

https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

It's from this page:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170

Ben,

I installed the link but it made no difference to the original problem.

I’ve installed Gizmo64 into the plugins folder as well as the latest Flywithlua. Other responders are suggesting it’s an activation problem but I can’t agree as I can access the TBM and all its switches/controls. Just can’t get the crash bar to stay up. I’m convinced it’s something simple like a file missing. I can’t find an ‘Activation’ link anyway.

I’ve also noticed that there are some symbols in a block running down the right hand side of the screen but the only one which responds to a mouse click is ‘Shell’. Lastly, when I have the TBM on the screen and access the plugins menu at the top then click on Gizmo64, the ‘Actions’ window is greyed out. Is this normal?

Thanks again

This is an activation problem.

Do you have multiple screens plugged in to your computer? We've seen reports of the activation window not appearing correctly under this condition.

"Actions" greyed out is normal.

Have a look at X-Plane Menu / Plugins / Gizmo64 / Windows / X-Aviation Licensing

That was the ‘simple’ answer I was looking for. Yes, the activation window was hidden beneath the second screen. All sorted now and the TBM is looking great again.

Thanks for your help Ben.
