Trying to throttle in X-Plane with F2 key and trying to throttle with F1

Alright, so I'm new to X-Plane, I installed the demo, and decided to start flying. When I spawned my plane, I turned on the engines, and holded down F2, then it pulled up the Windows 10 desktop viewer. It did the same with F1, when I held it down, it minimized all apps. Please, help.

Is this on a laptop? It sound like you may need to be holding down the function key (Fn) plus the actual F1 or F2 keys.

Just downloaded the demo version. Beautiful views BUT: cannot get the  F2 key (Rev up) to work, as the key is assigned to brigth-up.

Using Mac Mini macos Sequioa 15.5

You'll need to press the 'fn' key at the same time as F1 or F2.
