Hello All,

This will serve as a formal forum announcement that we have released the version 1.6.4 update for the Take Command! Saab 340A. All customers who have purchased the Saab 340A up till now have been sent an e-mail by X-Aviation with complete instructions on how to obtain your update. We have made this a very simple process! For those that purchase the Saab 340A from today forward, your purchased download will already be updated to version 1.6.4 for you.

What if I didn't get the update e-mail?

If you did not receive your update e-mail don't fret! X-Aviation has updated our system to allow all customers to update with ease, regardless of whether you received an e-mail for the update! Here's what to do:

1. Login to your X-Aviation account here: https://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/account_history.php

2. Find your original Saab 340A download and re-download the file. It will download as the latest version!

The following is a list of additions/fixes included:

What's New / Changed:

  • User Pref Text (Added additional logic to assure correct color)
  • A/P ALT Mode (Added logic to preserve Alt Preselector value on ALT engage)
  • Altitude Preselector (Changed logic to initialize values rounded to 100)
  • RA Test (New logic implemented to handle LRN and value countdown)
  • EADI/EHSI Nav Source (Adjusted logic to handle bit values correctly)
  • GNS530 (Added logic to properly handle default/custom nav data sources)
  • FI Stop (See notes below)
  • Power Lever Auto-Latch (See notes below)
  • ITT (Additional tweaks to temp logic)

Pending:

  • From v1.6.0 - Sim freezes/hangs on Saab load at certain airports
    • This bug appears to be related to airports that are at or near the Prime Meridian and possibly the equator. The map logic for converting lat/lon to x/y coordinates was getting hung in a loop due to coincident points or convergence error. This can be fixed but will take some revamping of the map coordinate logic, which is somewhat complex math and may take a little time. We are going to clean up most of the other bugs first and then get to this one. The good news is that for now the aircraft is working fine in all other areas of the world.

Reported as a bug. This is NOT a bug!...

  • De-Ice System (Verified working correctly)

**IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS!**

NOTES:  (Power Lever Auto-Latch / Flight Idle Stop)

We have partially implemented the Saab Flight Idle Stop System. The logic for the system is complete. The annunciator is not modeled. The Override Knob is not modeled.

This new feature should provide much better functionality during the landing phase.

This feature provides an automated "safety stop", which prevents inadvertent movement of the Power Levers below flight idle when in flight. This is separate from the Power Lever Latch.

As a part of this new feature we have redesigned how you use the Power Lever Latches. You now have two options:

Use the Power Lever Latches exactly the way they are used in the real world Saab.

Have the Power Lever Latches "automated" in sync with the above described new Flight Idle Stop feature.

If you choose to NOT use the Auto-Latch then you will need to manually engage the latches on the Power Levers in order to move them below the Flight Idle position. You will only be able to do this when the Flight Idle Stop is Open

If you choose to use the Automated-Latch then you will not need to use the latches at all, they will be automated in sync with the Flight Idle Stop.  Just remember, this does not eliminate the Flight Idle Gate, you will still need to wait for the Flight Idle Stop to open in order to move your levers below the Flight Idle position.

You can choose which option you want to use in the User Preferences Window. When you load v1.6.4 the option should be set to "unchecked", which means you want to use the latches as they work in the real world Saab. If you want this to be automated you will need to check the option for "Use PL Auto Latch".

In addition, all other preferences will be reset when you install v1.6.4 and you will need to set them accordingly.

The red line for the Power Levers, visible in the TQ viewer, now indicates the status of the Flight Idle Stop. In v2.0 you will be able to see the status of the Flight Idle Stop as an annunciator on the FSP.

You will still need to keep your hardware in sync with the cockpit manipulators.

As always, thanks for being a customer with X-Aviation. We appreciate your feedback and support!

Enjoy these latest updates, and stay tuned to the forum as we continually announce the latest happenings.
