CRJ Stopped working

Javier, this is very strange now - as i did a lot of flights and testings as you know - all of the sudden the crj stopped working. to be more clear after switching on the main batt and IRS to NAV - the FMC stays dark and on the popup no button is active. I made a new install of this plane but it stays dark. There was no conflict before with the FMC

I found this happened when I renamed the DisplayFrame.tga file to get rid of the frames. The first time I renamed it DisplayFrametga.bk and got the symptoms you described. I then renamed it DisplayFrametga.off, and everything works.

yes.. it seems problems with activation. X-Aviation will work with that.

Here I am testing.. hours and hours inside Mac.. and I don't find any problem!!!!!! because of that is VEEEEERY IMPORTANT your log.txt and crash-log.txt files!!!

Exactly. It's also a two letter extension which is unused in POSIX systems, so no weirdness will result from using it.

yes I downloaded a new installer cause the first one of the vers. 1.1 does not work without a preinstalled vers. 1.0 - maybe you can give me one download back, but this only beside

I tell you what - I disabled all plugins which are not related to the CRJ and started xp again and the FMC worked again. Then I activated my plugins one by one (those plugin of which the CRJ worked before) and at the end if I activated all of them the FMC still works?!

BTW - what is the shrink wrap plugin in my plugin folder - I never saw it before??

Right now I am going to install new video driver after reboot of the machine I will see what happpens and let you know. If I get the problem again for sure I will send you the log and crash file.

Tom, I cannot give you a link to download because that is stuff from X-Avitation. X-Aviation support installing, downloading and activation.

Philipp support plugin and programming issues.

And I support graphical ones..

but because sometimes not all are online (and now Philipp cannot be online for some little time) then I try to organize and test myself to send more info to Philipp internally.

You can send the crash-log.txt when you have a crash. If the plane or x-plane didn't CTD then no crash-log.txt will be generated.. and if there is one already there maybe is one of an old CTD issue.

The best you can do when you want test and have those logs texts, is to delete both if you have them. They will be generated automatically.

BUT again the damm plugins!!! I bet that 97% off all these problems the CRJ has are because modified files by users, predeleted files before installs.....

I am not saying that all the issues are because computer users.. but yes a lot of them. I am trying to reproduce the CTD and I CAN'T!!! I CAN'T with clean installs.. Soon will come with external plugins.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying here, but if you're asking for a new download to 1.1 simply go to X-Aviation and request it. This is not the place to do so.

As long as the license_key.txt file generated from activation is still present, then yes, it will work.

Also I want to ask...... did you have the fms working in the 1.1 version anytime? if so.. what did you do to make it black??????

There was no need to go further to see all displays - it is just not possible to connect GPU without the FMC. But I discovered something else - do you had any problems with the xsquawkbox plugin before. I did three tests now - the problem occurs with enabled xsquawkbox plugin (not connected).

Now we get problems with the most used plugin in the sim world.

Did you say that you installed again 1.0 version over 1.1 version? the 1.0 version does not delete the 1.1 it has to be deleted by hand. We can guide you.. but this problem you have seems to be because the MESSSSSSSSSSS you have in your computer.

We have had reports the XSB actually was causing issues even in 1.0. We will investigate this further, as I do agree with you...this is a heavily used plug-in that needs to be compatible!

No Javier do not missunderstand me - the first 1.1. installer could not work without installed vers. 1.0 cause 1.1. wanted to deinstall first. So for my first CRJ 1.1 install I put back 1.0 and let the 1.1 run - that worked. Today after this problem happened - and I did nothing, really nothing I deinstalled the CRJ and did a clean install with the new 1.1. installer which I downloadad today. I read that cameron corrected the problem with this missing uninstaller from the first version. So I did a clean CRJ install on my machine. And I removed the problematic CRJ 1.1. with the uninstaller before.

really the strange thing is that I did nothing special before this problem occur - yesterday I did a flight online on the vatsim net using xquawkbox as usual. after this flight I shut off the machine and when I started it today there was this problem. Believe me I do not have a messie machine - this machine runs only xplane nothing else.

What I will defenitely do is to install a fresh xsquawkbox plugin then we will see.

2. install 1.1 version without installing 1.0

3. make a flight in your airports you usually use.. even with water arround.

4. use the squadbox plugin.. with that demo.. and tell us.

True with the actual installer this works - It did not work with the first 1.1. installer I dowanloaded

well Tom... if yesterday was working and not today the CRJ didn't change at all.. so something was done inside your computer to make it not work. It cannot work once and then break the working. A rule.. is.. if once worked.. then it should work again.

Maybe it is time to install another clear demo of x-plane.. and try it.. WITHOUT any plugin or HARDWARE. Also without other airplanes around and 1 (maximum 2) solution of flight number.

Not sure if this helps, but my FMC stayed dark when having the xpushback plugin active. I disabled it, reloaded the plane and things got back to normal here...
