Harshad Posted July 27, 2020 Report Posted July 27, 2020 Dear Support, I have purchased the Garmin G5 add-on and am using it with the default Cessna 172 on xplane. I was wondering if there is a way I can get both G5s permanently overlayed as pop-outs so that I can increase the size and view them clearly when flying. They are far too small when using as part of the sim instrument panel. I've tried changing the config file and managed to get popout working but they disappear when I click on the screen - my current config file is attached. I run xplane 11 in full screen mode. Coop Posted July 27, 2020 Report Posted July 27, 2020 If you go into the X-Plane Settings -> Keyboard page, search G5 for commands and there are commands for Toggle G5 A and Toggle G5 B. Bind these to a key on your keyboard and then those will popup as in-sim popups instead of external window popups. 1 Quote

When you press and hold the knob on the HSI on the real world G5, the heading bug auto aligns with the current heading. Is that possible on the sim G5? Quote

aselaviation Posted August 7, 2020 Report Posted August 7, 2020 @Coop I'm having trouble finding the G5 commands in the keyboard settings. Is there something I have to do to make them show up? Quote

It has some bugs which I would love to get figured out (dials jumping by 2 per click randomly) but yes, it does work in the standard 172 which is what I’ve been using it in exclusively so far. Quote
Coop Posted August 8, 2020 Report Posted August 8, 2020 Commands can be found and bound in X-Plane keyboard settings (note, these only will appear if the G5 plugin is currently running, so it needs to be installed into the aircraft that is currently loaded): Quote
