OlaHaldor Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 I prioritized wrong, and bought the CRJ.Am I the only one not being able to read the MFD clearly? I must zoom in a lot until I can make sense of the mash of pixels on my screen.Extreme res, pixel shaders on, 1920x1200 on a 24".It might have state of the art systems and such, but being that I can't read my speed, altitude or vertical speed unless I zoom kind of kills the joy.
Japo32 Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 I guess you meaned the PFD the one on the most left....Mmmmmm did you try popup the display
OlaHaldor Posted May 14, 2011 Author Report Posted May 14, 2011 Yes I did. It's crisp and clear, but it's annoying to have an overlay like that.
Nova Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 I don't have a problem with the numbers, but more with the ILS markers.I can barely see those magenta diamonds. While the G/S is somehow guessable the LOC is absolutely not findable.I'm not a fan of those pop-ups. they kill the whole emersion from usingthis nice 3D pit and TrackIR.
Japo32 Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 Ok, then you both could do something with the pilot view program putting a more close view. Also change your angle view in rendering. You will lose peripherical surround areas, but more clear vision of displays in 3d.Also you can delete the frame of the popup display.
OlaHaldor Posted May 14, 2011 Author Report Posted May 14, 2011 So there's absolutely no way to enhance the resolution of the displays in 3D cockpit?
haardy Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 Yes... install XHSI on second computer. Did that already before purchasing the plane. Also nice to have the Navigraph software installed on the second PC.Sometimes a single 27" screen is simply not enough ;DHelps a lot while plane hopping - which is usual for flightsimmers, isn't it?
bokepacha Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 1920*1080 here in a 32" screen and it looks perfectly fine for me (and I use glasses xD)
alexcolka Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 Hi,Try changing the longitude point of view in Planemaker as I did, It's like moving your seat forward and now I can look better at the displays.Alex
philipp Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 Well, the 3d cockpit is modelled according to real measurements. The screens are not bigger in the real thing than they are in the simulator. But in the real thing, you have much a broader view than even a 27in. monitor. To compensate for this limitation, we provide the popup-screens. The resolution of the popup screens is the same as of the little screens. So they are smaller, but not "blurrier". If you absolutely don't want the popups, you will have to either adjust your field-of-view setting to a more close-up perspective, or you setup a closer view to use with pilot view plugin.Philipp
