cromsan Posted April 8, 2019 Report Posted April 8, 2019 After the fuel waste message , I do what RobW05 says: "- Accelerator in cutting position. - The ignition switch is off - Ignition AUX BP - Press and hold the start switch for 2 seconds, then release - Wait 10 seconds - Hold the start switch momentarily in the abort position, then release Now all the residual fuel should have been cleaned and you can try another regular start-up procedure. " But I still get the message of fuel residue . I'm going to maintenance and repair it in the engine. It keeps coming out. I have no other solution than to start with a new TBM900.
Tassierob Posted April 8, 2019 Report Posted April 8, 2019 2 seconds is not long enough. According to the real pilot manual you need to motor for up to 15 seconds. I would say you are not clearing the combustion chamber.
RobW05 Posted April 8, 2019 Report Posted April 8, 2019 The 2 seconds is just to initiate the starter sequence. He's dry motoring for more than 10 seconds after that which should be enough to clear the combustion chamber.
Tassierob Posted April 8, 2019 Report Posted April 8, 2019 I have had a couple of times I have had to dry motor twice. A longer time definitely helps and as you can dry motor for up to 30seconds, particularly in hot weather where it is recommended in the pilot manual, it is worth a try.
