LKN Posted December 30, 2018 Report Posted December 30, 2018 Hi Captains, Look what happened after just 20 min of flying in a vfr flight in the circuit! At the second go around I had to make an emergency landing because of ice, almost stall in short final rwy 5 at PASA! It was by night (real time) I just put on daylight to show you the ice accumulation on the wings and on visible parts of the airframe!!! LOVE THAT BIRD!!! 2 Quote

Jakob Ludwig Posted December 30, 2018 Report Posted December 30, 2018 Wow. Glad you made it to ground. With that much ice, I imagine you'll fall from sky flying to slow. Haven't experienced that much ice with the TBM... 1 Quote

Hi Jakob, To get such an amount of ice, I used the free plugin : https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/48460-icing-simulator-the-complete-edition/ It's a very good idea but it seems a little bit exagerated at some points, it happened that I had 10 times more of layers of ice on my wings (maybe 1 meter, too often) so I had to uninstall the plug but I'll give an other try, I think it's posssible to modify some datarefs but not sure... Jakob Ludwig Posted January 13, 2019 Report Posted January 13, 2019 I had some icing here and there, but always in predictable situations. And I always managed to keep the aircraft in the limits. I am satisfied as how X-Plane behaves with icing. It's mostly as I would it expect it IRL. Quote
