jungee Posted July 18, 2018 Report Posted July 18, 2018 Im having issues with night clouds working properly. If i turn off skymaxx and use x plane the clouds work. Clouds work awesome in daylight. When its night there is no clouds. If there is a cloud it will only show up when landing light is turned on and the cloud only appears directly in front of the aircraft. Out to the side of the aircraft you can see for miles into the distance. screenshots where shot within a few seconds of changing the time and or turning skymaxx on or off. Had low visibility set of stratus cloud from 750ft -5000ft. Skymaxx setting for cloud has HD Maxx off x plane cloud on Skymaxx on = No cloud Skymaxx on - No cloud, can see for miles Skymaxx off - in the soup When there was clould could only see it with the landing light on Landing light off and cloud cant be seen landing light illuminates the cloud in front only but u can see for miles out to the left In daylight in the soup with maxx on Thanks Quote
sundog Posted July 19, 2018 Report Posted July 19, 2018 Could you provide a shot of your SkyMaxx Pro settings while you're experiencing the problem, as well as a copy of your log.txt? I think this may be a matter of choosing the best settings for overcast representation for you, and/or a subtle difference between where SMP is positioning the clouds compared to the default weather. You might want to just try experimenting with different overcast representation settings, such as solid stratiform, to see what works best for you. Quote
jungee Posted July 25, 2018 Author Report Posted July 25, 2018 Thanks for the help Both the same settings just adjusted the time of day. Clouds just disappear at night Log.txt Quote
sundog Posted July 26, 2018 Report Posted July 26, 2018 In this particular case, you're inside fog it seems. Visibility according to your log is less than 1 km. So, I think that's causing our clouds, which are on the ground in this case, to be faded out due to the fog. What I'm seeing in your screenshots is no clouds in either day or night; there is only a fog effect, which is separate from SMP's clouds. The real issue is that the runway lights are punching through the fog, I think. As an experiment, you might try modifying your weather conditions to have higher visibility, and see if the clouds re-appear. Quote
