uwespeed Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 This is the scenery I am currently working on. Fürth is very close to Nuremberg (EDDN), has around 115,000 inhabitants and extends from north to south about 11,5 km and from east to west about 9,5 km.I plan to have every house, apartment building, gas station, junk food restaurant, ... and almost every tree ;-). But ... there ist still a lot to do: about half of the old town is missing as well as some outer quarters, some textures are still unvaried, ...Nevertheless ... enjoy Quote
Simmo W Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 That looks absolutely fantastic Uwe, Epic! Almost Lebelge scale, glad you are persevering. Can't wait to try it. So many buildings. Quote
uwespeed Posted January 9, 2011 Author Report Posted January 9, 2011 Thanks, Simon. But ... please do me favour and don't mention me in the same breath as Lebelge ;D. I'm still far away from what he has accomplished. But I hope to get there some day . Quote
UH-60 Blackhawk Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 You have the soccer field, what else is left? I like the ambition though. Quote
uwespeed Posted January 10, 2011 Author Report Posted January 10, 2011 I'm not quite sure what you're meaning: what is left to do? If yes: as already mentioned, half of the old town as well as some outer quarters, some textures have to be enhanced, some bugs - e.g. placement of buildings aligned with the OSM streets, overlapping buildings ... reason for the last is, that I'm using 2 tools, namely Overlay Editor and Scenery Builder. The first one places the objects directly onto the ground (WYSIWYG), the latter is based on Google Earth and generates only a dsf.txt file which has to be converted to a dsf (no WYSIWYG in regard of placing the objects into the X-Plane scenery). Without being too detailed, finally I have to merge the dsf's of both tools by hand at the end of the whole process and independent of whose "guilt" the overlapping objects are (OE or SB), I have to remove these buildings. Hope it was understandable , if not - simply have a tea or two (or more) and wait - it's finished when it's finished ;D. Quote
