I've always been a user of Microsoft Flight Simulator, so X-Plane is completely new to me.When installing X-Plane on my laptop, I simply selected 4 squares of surface texture, which covers the Florida/Georgia/Alabama area.The installation process used disks 1 through 3, and for the most part, the program starts up nicely. However, the scenery is very glitchy. What's weird is I sometimes see surface textures "below" the actual surface. So when I hit the ground, it looks like the ground is like 5000 feet below me.Does this have to do with my laptop's drivers? I have an HP Pavilion with Windows Vista and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 graphics. As far as I know, it should support OpenGL, right?Also, I've done several re-installations, and I still encounter the same problem.Thanks for the help! Quote

I'm not sure what my FPS is, but even on extreme res, the frame rates feel very smooth when I fly.I took my pictures at Peachtree Airport in Georgia, but I also tried Daytona Airport in Florida and got the same clipping issues. Oliver Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 I had that problem when I first got X-Plane, it was because of the video card. My planes, and my scenery would flash and disappear at certain angles. I bought a new video card and it went away and worked well... Oliver Quote
