Print744 Posted May 18, 2017 Report Posted May 18, 2017 (edited) Late-2011 15" MacBook Pro, XP10.51r2 I run the installer from the Finder> Downloads, the X-Aviation splash screen appears then is replaced by the message "There has been an error. Installer payload initialization failed. This is likely due to an incomplete or corrupt file." I've restarted the computer, deleted and redownloaded the file, but I get the same result every time I try to run the installer. Ideas? Edited May 18, 2017 by Print744
domhenry Posted May 18, 2017 Report Posted May 18, 2017 Hi I just purchased and have the same problem....
Goran_M Posted May 19, 2017 Report Posted May 19, 2017 From what I recall, Mac's cannot unzip packages without messing them up somehow. Try this Post back and let us know how you go.
Print744 Posted May 19, 2017 Author Report Posted May 19, 2017 (edited) Nope, no joy. I made Unarchiver the default .zip application and put Winzip (temporarily) in the Trash, redownloaded, same result. It's only with X-Aviation products that this has ever occurred, other .zip files open just fine. Edited May 19, 2017 by Print744
Goran_M Posted May 19, 2017 Report Posted May 19, 2017 In that case... http://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/contact_us.php?osCsid=daf5b9bc281fb361628d1ef71f156626
Print744 Posted May 19, 2017 Author Report Posted May 19, 2017 FWIW, I downloaded 4 other .zip apps and have the exact same result each time I try to unzip the DC-3 file.
Goran_M Posted May 19, 2017 Report Posted May 19, 2017 I've only had 1 other case of this happening, that I know of. Definitely unusual. We'll get you straightened out.
domhenry Posted May 19, 2017 Report Posted May 19, 2017 Same problem still here too - and I installed SMP last week with no problems... I wonder if the distribution needs a rebuild at yr end?
gsuri Posted May 19, 2017 Report Posted May 19, 2017 brand new install. Purchased over easter weekend sale
Goran_M Posted May 19, 2017 Report Posted May 19, 2017 We're getting into an area where I have no control. Installers and activation's are to be handled using the X Aviation contact page, which can be found at the link I provided.
domhenry Posted May 19, 2017 Report Posted May 19, 2017 thanks for responding - I already logged problem as per the link this morning - no response so far

TPAPA1C Posted December 2, 2019 Report Posted December 2, 2019 (edited) Hi Was there any resolution to this problem in the end? It's now late 2019 and I have the same problem with this installer on MacOS. The LES Saab340 installer runs fine. The DC-3 one looks to be pretty old - the last modified date appears to be 2013. UPDATE: I appear to have 'resolved' the problem (or rather worked-around) by: - right-click setup-osx - Show Package Contents - Open the MacOS folder and dbl-click the osx-intel executable --> the 'normal' x-aviation installer then seems to launch ok.
