Hey y'all, I recorded a new sound for the fire bell. Heres a quick video demonstration.

Much better than the original. Jan, if you want me to send it to you to include in the next version, PM me.

How to install:

Drop the firebell.wav into X-Plane 10\Aircraft\X-Aviation\IXEG 737 Classic\sounds\custom

firebell.wav

FYI, Jan recorded the one we use himself with a professional sound recorder, as with the rest of the sounds...

Im pretty sure the sound thats in the current public version is a placeholder. I would imagine so, as its labeled "temp" and has artifacts, is muffled, and "noisy". The current beta version may have a different sound.

The current sound is nowhere near the quality of the other sounds.

Thanks for your effort, BrianCoyote, I will check it out!

Jan

I wanted to note that the sound I've included is of a physical fire bell. Most 737s these days now use electronic speakers for the fire bell, which is what most pilots are used to hearing. This recording is that of the classic, physical fire bell.
