IndiB Posted December 18, 2016 Report Posted December 18, 2016 (edited) Hello. Having issues with the lightning in SkyMaxx v4 in XP11. The lightning in many scenarios is appearing darker than the sky. Could it be that the fix applied to brighten the clouds for X-Plane V11 needs applying to the lightning as well? Thanks. Brent. sundog Posted December 19, 2016 Report Posted December 19, 2016 Could be. Will investigate. Thanks for the report. Quote
3saul Posted December 19, 2016 Report Posted December 19, 2016 Even better if the lightening was lit by a shader that illuminated rather than what looks like an image of lightening. Would that be possible? I believe SMP currently does in-cloud shader effects like this. Quote
hamlet2k Posted December 19, 2016 Report Posted December 19, 2016 I can reproduce the same issue. Quote
sundog Posted December 19, 2016 Report Posted December 19, 2016 (edited) OK, I looked into this. Short story: the issue with with X-Plane 11's own built-in lightning effect, not ours. In stormy conditions, you'll still see X-Plane's own lightning effects in addition to ours. Lightning that appears attached to one of our cumulonimbus clouds is lightning drawn by SkyMaxx Pro. Lightning that just appears out of the blue is drawn by X-Plane. You can also spot our lightning because it illuminates the cloud around it. I found that our lightning draws white as it should - it's actually X-Plane's own lightning that appears dark in X-Plane 11. I'll file a bug with Laminar on this. Randolph1 Posted December 26, 2016 Report Posted December 26, 2016 I have just installed SMP and soundmaxx 4. I cannot hear thunder in XP11. It is marvelous in XP10. Please advise. Thank you. JRS Quote
sundog Posted December 26, 2016 Report Posted December 26, 2016 Ah, I looked into this more deeply, and there is a problem with thunder messages getting sent between SMP4 and SoundMaxx. We'll have to issue a patch to SoundMaxx for this. Watch your email for an announcement when it's ready. Quote
