balaton Posted October 28, 2016 Report Posted October 28, 2016 It took a couple of flights with ixeg 737 that I realized that I did not have altitude alerter function. No lights, no sounds, absolutely nothing. Is it a known issue or ...? Cheers, tamas Quote
Morten Posted October 28, 2016 Report Posted October 28, 2016 Depends...Altitude alert will never be heard if the autopilot flies the plane.. You will hear it in manual flight if approaching the MCP alt too fast, or when straying from it for more than 300 feet (ref Jan) Quote
balaton Posted October 29, 2016 Author Report Posted October 29, 2016 No altitude alerter function with A/P ON? Alt. alert during manual flight when you are approaching MCP altitude too fast??? Never heard/learned/seen of such a logic in my RW experience including the Boeing family! Your opinion dear RW captains? tamas Quote
Morten Posted October 29, 2016 Report Posted October 29, 2016 (edited) I was probably a bit unclear, not my area of expertise, but here is how Jan explains it (6000 hrs in 737CL) Edited October 29, 2016 by Morten Quote
balaton Posted October 30, 2016 Author Report Posted October 30, 2016 Quote Ok, many thanks Morten. Again: never heard a logic like this, but I'm always open to learn something new. It would be interesting to know what airline used this. Cheers, Tamas Quote
balaton Posted October 30, 2016 Author Report Posted October 30, 2016 Many thanks Jan, that shows the definite limits of my aviation knowledge! Tamas Quote
