It took a couple of flights with ixeg 737 that I realized that I did not have altitude alerter function. No lights, no sounds, absolutely nothing.

Is it a known issue or ...?

Depends...Altitude alert will never be heard if the autopilot flies the plane.. You will hear it in manual flight if approaching the MCP alt too fast, or when straying from it for more than 300 feet (ref Jan)

No altitude alerter function with A/P ON? Alt. alert during manual flight when you are approaching MCP altitude too fast???

Never heard/learned/seen of such a logic in my RW experience including the Boeing family!

Your opinion dear RW captains?
