X-Plane Hardware Support. Only recognizes 4 or 5 of my 6 hardware pieces. Error?

Hey Guys,

I currently have the following hardware pieces:

- Saitek Yoke

- Saitek Throttle

- Saitek Throttle

- Saitek Pedals

- GoFlight GF-166 Radio Panel

- BU0836X Joystick Emulator Card

Sometimes, X-Plane only recognizes 4 or 5 of the above instead of all of them. They are all plugged into a powered 7-USB Hub.

I read that USB Cord Length has an effect. Does it?

Now the Saitek Yoke has a built-hub so sometimes when I play with my two hubs, I can try to make it work. like I will plug all saitek devices into the hub built into the saitek yoke. The GF panel and the BU0836X card then go into the powered 7-usb hub and then X-Plane does recognize it.

Confusing, confusing. Anyone else have problems with X-Plane Hardware?

Maybe it's not powered enough to handle that much stuff. I had that problem once. Move the controls' plugs around to different slots. Try to get the most powerful flight control panel attached directly to your computer.

It's most likely because you're using the 6 USB port thing. A USB port has a certain amount of power, and when you plug a 6 USB port in it takes power away and sometimes isn't enough to power your hardware. I had issues with my iPod cable not recognizing my iPod and I found out it was because the 6USB port I was using did not give off enough power to charge and sync the ipod. Try strictly using your computer's USB ports and see if that works!

Not claiming to be a expert in this department but just cos you have a 8 point plugbox, and you plug in 8 high power consuming appliances does that mean that your not going to blow a fuse. I'd imagine the same might apply to your situation.  :D

If you want to use the built in usb ports on the Saitek yoke, you will need to contact Saitek and order the power supply for the yoke.  There is not enough power in the yoke to power those ports.  I know this because I had the same problem with my Saitek equipment flying on my MacBook Pro.  I have my yoke plugged directly into a usb port on my MacBook Pro.  Then I have two Saitek Radio Panels plugged into the yoke usb ports along with the two throttle quadrants, one of quadrant comes with the yoke and has a proprietary plug and the additional throttle quadrant is usb.  I have my Saitek Switch Panel and my Saitek Multi Panel plugged into a 7 port powered hub that also has the external hard drive that X-Plane is installed on connected.

You can order the Saitek Yoke Power Supply here:

http://www.saitek.com

The MadCatz store site would not load for me tonight.  You'll have to get to it through the Saitek site.

I will order the power supply. Unfortunately the store also doesn't load for me. Can't I simply note the power/current etc displayed next to the power plug on the yoke, go to a hardware store and buy the proper power supply that will work with the Saitek hub?
