Dside Posted August 23, 2016 Report Posted August 23, 2016 Hi, I have tons of problems (the reason I hate flight sims, always too much fiddling) but I'll try to tackle one at a time. Can anyone point me in the right direction on these disappearing crepuscular rays? See the reference video; Quote
sundog Posted August 23, 2016 Report Posted August 23, 2016 "God rays" are only computed when the sun is in view. So when you rotate the camera like this to put the sun out of view, the god rays go away with the sun. While it's in view, the intensity of the rays depend on the position of the clouds relative to the sun. Quote
Dside Posted August 23, 2016 Author Report Posted August 23, 2016 So is there an easy way to have them computed constantly even when the sun is out of view? I know, it would probably eat a ton of FPS but that flashing is quite annoying also. It's very disturbing when the whole sky changes color when you turn your head just a bit. Looks great when it works though. Quote
sundog Posted August 24, 2016 Report Posted August 24, 2016 I'm pretty sure the community would be at my door with torches and pitchforks if god rays were active all the time - the FPS hit is noticeable. Introducing a config switch for that in a future version might not be a bad idea, though. Quote
