Problems with direct to

Hi,

Just flew EGKK - EIDW in this amazing plane, but when entering a direct to, fps dropped to max 30, paused for a second, then returned back to 30 and continued in this loop.

I had to exit the flight and start again. This time, I noticed that it was as soon as I selected a waypoint in the fmc that was part of my route to fly direct to, bang, it happened. If I clicked erase to undo that command, fps back to usual?

Route was:

EGKK KENE1X KENET UL9 GAVGO UL18 LIPGO

ATC cleared me direct KENET shortly after take off.

Yes, will try excluding Windows defender from scanning the xp folder.
